Anyone else want badges removed?

These are HUGE contributors to the "arcadey" feel that 2k really does not need. There's nothing wrong with the standard attribute system. Every thing you need for every single player can be justified by strictly attributes, animations, & tendencies.

Badges aren't too bad on standard H2H, but playing park mode or MyTeam is just unbearable with these. They're basically fantasy power ups that have no business in a sports "sim" game that blur the lines between true skill & artificial skill.

You know what? Just take out Limitless Range and all the other stupid shooting badges for 2k18 & that erases 80% of the problem.

End of rant, but I hope you guys see where I'm coming from.

I played a little Walk on before work today and heard this guy defend his dunk attempt on 4 people by saying "So does my HOF relentless finisher mean nothing?!!?"

Yes or at the very least cut down on the amount of tiers that badges have. 4 tiers for badges is utterly ridiculous. There was no need for Hall of Fame badges to be added.

Badges were a good idea but then they just wet badge crazy and broke the game. I vote to get rid of them...

They were a cool idea but they went to far and have too many. But I rather no badges at all than what we have now.

I don't play online but I'd rather see them scaled back significantly. I thought it was better when it was capped at like 5. That's a good number. LeBron is great but does he rally need like 50 badges? Id vote to keep them but scale it way back.

I liked the idea at first but in execution it just doesn't work. All it did it make ppl start cheesing things to get certain animations. I am a culprit of this as well. In 2k15 do you think my whole offense was 2 moves?(Drop step and post spin). HECK NO


But those HOF badges give higher quality animations so when you get them theres really no use to do any other moves. I mean I got HOF drop stepper and literally probably only have to do that move and ill score 20 PPG. Even the bronze badges open up a nice animations and abilities.

Absolutely not. People wanted things to differentiate between players so they came up with badges. If you want to take badges away then you have to have a replacement, because the problem will still be how do we tell similar rated players apart?

I don't think they should be removed but some of them should go.

Ankle breaker is one of them that needs to be removed!

I think each badge should give or take a way a max 2 points.

Some badges are useless in the game due to animations or lack of physics and foot planting.

Badges are just fine. The only problem is letting players have too many. I think people forget that 2k13 and 2k14 were just fine when players had a limited amount of signature skills/badges, and people actually LOVED the idea of them. In 2k13, you had 5, and you had 7 in 2k14. The problems began when they removed the sig skill/badge number limit.

Nix the HOF badges, and go back to the 7 sig skill/badge limit. That way, you only have 7 skills that assist in your actual playstyle. None of this 40 badge BS.

I'd prefer the way it used to be where you'd see the badges on a player and they'd light up when active. More accurate but to me is fine just the way it is too.
