Should Live Take another Year Off for Frostbite Transition?

Imo I think they should, Live isn't in it for sales right now their in it for the love of the game and respect! Live 18 looks like it's going to be a good product so instead of rushing out a game with minor upgrades next year (ie Madden 18) because of an engine transition year I think they should take a year off and deliver us a full new experience in 2020. Of course they would need to add full roster editing to Live 18 and the ability for people to share them so we can have updated rosters during the off year.

Who's to say they haven't already begun transitioning to frostbite already for Live 19? I'm sure work has already begun on that. ;-)

I'll take frostbite as soon as it comes...I'm good to go with 18 as is (with some minor touch ups, improvements throughout that they promised), I'm impressed enough with the visuals. I'd like it in 19, for selfish reasons, but from the company standpoint, I'd understand riding this current iteration out until it's a little stale then drop it.

No way in hell is that a good move now they have something that people, more often than not, enjoy. Make the transition happen in good time and just add more modes and features. Taking another year off will cause the series to lose the fans they've gained back

Hopefully they started transition as it was in the plan until recently afaik

Game is good, and looks great but frostbite looking at Madden, oh my.

No because they just did. Once a hard copy shows up. I guarantee it won't Ignite nor Frostbite on the back. EA want to keeo the engine confedential to the component off the jump.

I still haven't figured out the big deal about frostbite.

Yea I'm actually wondering if this game is a hybrid of frostbite... as the graphics are really good.

Madden however looks real life sometimes

Re: Should Live Take another Year Off for Frostbite Transition?

The answer is no. It's a much bigger asset for outdoor games and larger venues, blades of grass, etc. It'll be great when it gets there, for shared assets, but in no world does it need to take a year off, when the momentum/wind is starting to get back behind the sails.

Re: Should Live Take another Year Off for Frostbite Transition?

I agree that it wouldn't make sense to take a year off, especially if this year is seen as a success.

Like others said, i don't see a huge jump for visuals with Frostbite for Live 18. Unless it leads to more accurate faces and body types.

I think it will be an easier transition for Live possibly next year. Since it will be year 3 of Frostbite and other EA games will be willing to help

Taking another full year off will cripple them. They finally seem to have their feet back under them with 18. They can’t afford to skip 19
