    Pre-Existing Injuries

    I started an offline CFM and was playing the Dolphins in the preseason. Ryan Tannehill was starting for them with pre-existing injuries on.

    Why does this seem to always be an issue with Madden when starting a CFM? Suggestions on how to fix this without taking control of every team? Frustrating for a sim player...

      Cutler is on the Dolphins but he is the back up...

        Maybe he hasn't been designated with a specific injury? I haven't caught any real news on his injury, last I knew it was just generalized as a knee injury. Not sure

          That isn't the case in my cfm. Now I have the retail version but Cutler is starting in mine and Ryan is out for the year.

            The real question is this. If I start a CFM with pre-exisiting injuries on...was the bug fixed where they can't come of IR the following season and are stuck there with no injury and zero weeks left?

            It was a bad bug on 17.

            I would like to start with pre-existing after the opening day rosters drop.

            I know I will sim ahead and test this tonight (if I am able to pick up my copy at GS).

              one year they might actually let us EDIT injuries ourselves so we don't have to kick players off a roster to free agents where they vanish, if we could edit injuries ourselves we could have a roster of 80 players with about 25 of them on IR. and be more accurate it will never happen though and if it did no doubt there would be some kind of limit but in 2017 injuries are happening like anything in sports

                  Please do post your findings because of all the issues I've had with Madden this is by and far the worst. It literally made preexisting injuries and injury reserve pointless as sometimes it would glitch out if you had preexisting off but put a guy on injured reserve, sometimes it would not let you take the player off reserve under any circumstances. I had it happen to me 3 different times all in different franchises.

                    I am going to sim through a season today and report back on my findings.

                    I turned them on in my first test CFM and will see what happens.

                      Another question has anyone figured out how you can play a play now game without the preexisting injuries on? Really annoyed with not having this option for play now games unless I'm just missing it.

                        I don't have the retail version yet but in my test CFM's during EA Access every time I played the Dolphins Cutler was starting. I especially noticed it because Charles Davis mentions Tannehill's injury and Cutler coming out of the broadcast booth. You sure you selected pre-existing injuries?

                          Pre-Existing Injuries indeed work and the IR bug the following season has been fixed.

                          I simmed through year one as well as the off-season.

                          Guys who were out for the year returned from injury the following year and some of them still had 1-3 weeks still left from their prior year injuries.

                          So yes people......it works. Play with Pre-Exisitng injuries if you wish!!

                            Thanks for posting, going to pick up my copy tonight, so I'm glad that it seems they are in working order, for once it looks like I'll actually be starting a franchise with preexisting on after for the first time in the last few years. Hopefully the IR glitch is gone too but only time will tell.

                              Thanks for verifying that it is fixed! Kind of hijacking the thread but it seems that the issue has been resolved....
