The Virtual Baseball League & International Virtual Baseball League are currently made up of two separate but equally awesome OOTP simulation leagues. I'll provide a separate post for IVBL in a few.
The history of the VBL dates back to the mid 1990’s, when Front Page Sports was the simulation platform of choice.
Since 2012 though, OOTP has become the foundation for our great community.
Currently, both leagues have converted to OOTP 18 within the last week. While many aspects of each league differ, the one rule that will never change in any league associated with the VBL is that the Commissioner does NOT own or operate any franchise within his league.
The only time a Commissioner might operate a team within his own league is if the team is left without an owner or a team’s owner is away from OOTP for an extended period of time.
The two leagues are very different, below I will post everything you need to know to determine whether the VBL or IVBL are a good fit for you!
VBL

The IVBL is unique because every team is located in a different country throughout the world. Our players mostly come from those countries, and our draft provides several "now" ready talent. We like to think of our draft as an NFL style draft.
Also, the statistics are modeled after the early 1970's of MLB. So lots of complete games!
Also, we have no divisions. The top 8 teams make it to the elite 8 tournament.
