Friends list is empty when trying to play unranked head to head

Why? Funny thing is that I played a head to head game earlier today. Now my friends are not populating in the list. Ugh!

the way they do this , just is not good for some reason every year seems to be something alittle off about it. i have friends i know are not only online but playing madden, yet it shows them offline often. I just do not get it.But hey , MUT squads.....
