Roster cuts

Is their a way after starting your cfm and winning preseason that the CPU doesn't cut guys like Joe Mixon and other big name players that's shouldn't be cut? I mean really wtf. Can we stop this from happening? I go to week 1 after making my own cuts and see this. Totally ruins the entire franchise. Any help would be appreciated

I noticed this too thankfully I had several base files after adding extensive edits in a now 32 man cfm..
Before I took 32 control -
Joe mixon
Kareem hunt
Mike gillislee
Several DR's
Many rookies released for no reason.

I have only noticed it using the official rosters. Using downloaded rosters Joe Mixon is the Bengals leading rusher in year 2 of my franchise.

When did you guys start your franchise? I just started mine this past saturday using the week 1 ea opening week roster update and am in week 4 of the preseason after the computer does their psquad and cuts and they didnt cut anyone like that?

Does it usually happen once we sim to the regular season?

This is so annoying. I really wish there was a way to skip preseason and jump right into the regular season with the official 53 man rosters.

Nifty, I started up my franchise this past weekend as well and noticed it immediately. There's definitely some weird schtuff going on starting a franchise. I either run into this problem with good players being cut or the problem where every team carries a 75 man roster versus the official 53

Question...did you play the preseason and use a custom roster or jump right in with play now live?

Also I shut off injuries and pre-existing injuries. Do you?

First attempt: loaded rosters starting in preseason week 1
Results - good players being released.

Second attempt: Play Now Live current rosters starting regular season week 1
Results - good players weren't getting cut but 75 man roster glitch and higher ranked FAs (seen in current roster FA pool) disappear.

For consistency in testing, both setups I did with injuries on and pre-existing off.

Ok I did mine starting from the preseason. I downloaded the official EA week 1 update made a few chanegs to the rosters and then uploaded them as custom rosters with all injuries off. Also I began in preseason week 1 and havent had the problem knock on wood

I went in to the official 53 man opening night roster and edited key rookies to make sure they would not be cut.

More hoops we dance and jump through. LOL!!!

Basically load up the official week 1 roster, make some random tiny change tom player and save it as a custom roster. Load the custom roster and change back whatever tiny change you made and re-save your custom roster over itself.

Now you have the EA official roster saved as a custom one... start a new CFM and use that one.

That should work.

I just made a few changes to my own team. Nothing crazy. Overwrote the roster file and loaded it as custom and started in the preseason week 1 and didnt have any issues.

Try it for yourself and let me know if you have any issues

Ah man this sounds great! If I may ask, two questions...what kind of changes, and how many, did you guys have to make to the rosters? Secondly, did you still run into the 75 man roster glitch?

I just edited the positions of some of players for example moving a guy from LOLB to ROLB.

Also i went through free agency and signed some PSquad guys who were on the free agency wire. Thats pretty much it.

Also to be honest I really dont understand what the 75 man glitch is? Is it affected everyone?
