success with pump fakes?

what are your guyses thoughts on pump fakes vs. the cpu? I feel as though i don't get enough bites, esp in the paint, after an o rebound for example. also of course lacking on the perimeter - namely for elite shooters. ive seen the cpu shuffle their feet, but they almost NEVER fully commit and end up in the air... this should happen esp when the defender arrives late.

i can honestly say i havent had one cpu player bite on a pump fake. i havent played the game that much but ive played about 6-7 games on 11 minute quarters and havent seen one.

I have the same issue bro. CPU doesn't bite on any pump fake especially under the rim after an offensive rebound, it's frustrating.

I usually shot fake before driving but nearly always CPU stands still like nothing happened.

I played like 5 full games and i've seen maybe 3 instances where CPU bit on my fake and I make pump fake often... They have to correct it. CPU do not bite on jab steps neither, that has to be corrected too

It's seemingly dependent on the player and where they are at in the situation.

I've had defenders bite on a JJ Reddick 3PT shot and defenders bite on Embiid's pump fake throughout various spots on the court.

They never fall for Ben Simmons or Dario Saric, so I'm thinking maybe it's tied into their shooting stats? (and also the defender's defensive stats)

im sure it is tied to either attributes or tendencies, but like I said, its an extreme rarity even with players like klay, curry, ray allen, etc... even when I time and place it perfectly, like on a late close out when I could have really just taken the shot.

Pump fakes seem to work a lot as a measure to put the defender off balance. For example if you hit them with a pump fake into a triple threat move you are more than likely going to have something open up whether its a lightly contested shot or a drive

thats still not how pump fakes work tho. defenders literally leave their feet on a good pump fake from a good shooter in real life.

In mycareer the cpu doesn’t go for Fakes enough.
