    First Patch

Anyone else think the game got ruined with this first patch? I was LOVING the game out of the box. Now I'm over here trying to decide if I want to remove the first patch and just play career mode, or keep it so I can play online with friends... really disappointed over here

    Same here...

Loved the game, now it feels like FIFA 17 after the patches made FIFA 17 totally boring...

**** EA. I'm so done with them!

The good news for those on PC is, if you saved backup versions of the game at various patch iteration you can use cr**ks that are already available on the net to launch whatever the version of the game you prefer.

the first release game wasn't perfect either, the patches improved some areas and weakened other areas.

there is surely a difference between offline and online gameplay (only can comment on offline so far). offline the pace is a tad faster, but the op-longshots and gk are improved and a bit more post/crossbar-shots from the cpu now. That's what i felt gameplaywise from release to current patch.

but the matches still make fun, nonetheless. the raised speed makes it more like a 'fifa 17 2.0' imo. i think, for more speed fifa needed more animations for player-body-movement to make it look more realistic, thats why slow feels better.

I never played 17 as I came from 16. I found the pk's and corner kicks easier in 16 but other than that I don't seem to have a problem with gameplay.

It definitely wasn't perfect, but I thought it was infinitely better than post Patch. I feel like I'm playing FIFA 17 again.

they sold us fifa 18 and patched it to fifa 17 and will update it to fifa 16....that's the plan for fifa. you heard it hear first

I don't see much of a difference at all. Still plays the same to me.

                    Re: First Patch

Scoring from corners has gotten quite a bit harder. I was putting them in at a pretty unrealistic rate before the patch.
Keepers definitely better. Finesse long-shots get saved a lot now. As do short side low driven shots.

                      Re: First Patch

I am on PC and I've been going back and forth between the pre and post patch version. The difference is subtile, but clearly, I prefer the pre patch version and I will probably stick with it.

The overall pace is cooler. AI teammates feels more involved in defending. The cpu build up feels more random, every thing seems more random. There is more emphasis on zonal play with more overloading of the area where the ball is. More physicality and more midfield battle. The cpu feels sometime a bit OP in the way it takes advantage of physicality, but you can counter that using shielding when the situation requires it. As a cons, the cpu lines up are often a joke considering the personal of a team, but this is not really different post patch.

                        Re: First Patch

My biggest complaint is how fast the game is playing now. I played like 4 games last night and it felt better than it did at first. But I still loved the feel (speed) of the game more pre patch.
