“team” rebounds included in defensive rebounds on the boxscore?

    NBA average per game:
    Offensive rebounds 10.2
    Defensive rebounds 33.4
    Team rebounds 8.1
TOTAL rebounds 51.6 (should be close to adding above 3)

The box score in 2k seems to add team rebounds as defensive rebound? Can anyone confirm this? Is that the norm?

This has been screwed up by the devs for several yrs now, where the rebounding totals are inflated and inaccurate. I think at times when a ball is tipped and goes out of bounds they are counting it as a rebound, which then inflates rebounding totals. I dont know why after all these yrs, that they still cant get this right, but its a yearly issues as far back as I can remember with NBA2k.

I’m looking at boxscore of people using sliders and the TOTAL rebounds seem to hover around the low 50s which IS the total rebound average for the league. And when I look at the individual player boxscore for the same game the rebound totals add up to less than 51, which brings me to the conclusion that “team” rebounds and defensive rebounds are falsely add together in the boxscore as defensive rebounds. They need to have a separate “team” rebound (nba avg 8.1; not to be confused with “total” rebounds).

Sorry, don’t have the game yet to delve in to it further. Still debating based on whether realistic boxscore is achievable.

Definitely what's happening, it needs its own separate stat column.

Also, if shot is blocked to out of bounds, the player who was shooting is rewarded with offensive rebound.
