What do you do if there are no Elite QBs in the draft?

Top 5 pick, no elite quarterback in the draft, and the best QB available is ranked 17th - average. Reach for the QB or take the BPA. My team needs a QB in the worst way.

If there is a guy who shows a lot of promise at a position of need take him, otherwise trade down and grab a 1st round pick for next season

Did the QB per chance have any stories that indicate he has SS potential? (Son of a legendary coach, football convert, Heisman, ASG MVP). If yes, draft him.

What are the QBs three skills?

Do both. BPA, but then trade back up into 1st. Or trade down to draft QB and stock up for next year's draft.

It's really bad luck for you to have draft class with no potentially elite QBs. I seen at least two in every class.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

This happened to me recently. Playing as the 49ers I obviously needed a QB and I had the #1 overall. The QBs in the draft were not worth a high pick (and I checked them all afterwards and was correct).

I went with the #1 talent overall which was a CB. Ended up being 83 overall with solid zone and man coverage ratings, 95ish speed as well.

Go with the BPA or trade for next year.

If his throwing power is a- or better i would take him. Otherwise, i would pass.

I would either play it safe and draft the best lineman avaliable or just trade the pick and stock up on next year first rounders

Trade down a few spots and try to snag a 2nd round pick. Assuming you also have a top 5 pick in the 2nd round, try and trade that for someone's first in next year's draft. Now you have the ammo in your arsenal to move up and get a franchise QB next year if one is available.

Depending on how far into your CFM you are, you should be able to trade for a 26-30 year old backup QB out in the league to hold you over until you find a better QB draft. Go looking for a guy that fits your system but is playing backup for someone else. There's almost always a guy like that out there.
