I believe its intentional to be bloodier than your average game, but to be fair, in real life there would be a lot more blood than the games and movies typically lead us to believe. The amount of blood in this game looks a bit more accurate, but still probably less than what there would really be.

There is also somewhat of a history in Japanese movies/comics/etc of very stylized over-the-top blood spewing in samurai type hack-n-slash flicks which they may be alluding to with this game. It looks cool, if nothing else.

Seems like the hype has died a bit. Hope they put out some more gameplay soon.
