Not wanting to start a flame thread at all. This would be a wonderful thing for the industry. All sports games should do this. WE would finally have finished and completed product that works out of the box and the glitches and patches would not be needed. Least on paper it wouldn't. I'm all for this? What you say?
If Madden and FIFA start releasing every other year, 2K should do the same thing

As long as they put out a complete game, and we arent paying for a game that needs patch after patch to fix it, or in NBA2k's case break the game with patches, lol.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Yeah but EA knows all of us will keep on buying the game year after year even though they only change or update one thing per year. I really wish 2K could make football games

I think we're asking too much lol jk. But the only way this stops is if we quit buying yearly releases. I already have. Why expect them to change if they're making a boat load of money off what they're doing.

If we use 2k as the example here, if they're not making that yearly money in selling units, then what do people think will happen with VC?Comment

Yeah this would be great. Yearly titles, especially sports games, don’t push out all the features that they are capable of putting out because they don’t want it to be just a roster update and minimal new changes, even though it is beginning to seem like that anyway. NASCAR Heat released a DLC for 9.99 or something like that for updated drivers for the new season almost a year before the new game came out so it can be done. But ultimately it will come down to what brings in the most money not what the consumer, us, wants. I honestly don’t see it happening anytime soon but it’s wishful thinking nonetheless. Good post.

Yeah that would be a miracle and a first. Maybe throughly testing it or maybe actually testing it before they put it out as well.

EA makes a ton off MUT and FIFA cards, it's why they can afford to do this.

Re: If Madden and FIFA start releasing every other year, 2K should do the same thing
From Forbes, so I'm assuming this is credible:
"NBA 2K18 was the top selling sports game of September 2017. With one month of sales NBA 2K18 also became the best-selling sports game year to date. NBA 2K18 had the largest consumer spend in launch month of any Sports genre title since the current generation of consoles launched in November 2013. NBA 2K18 was the second best-selling game of September overall."
I highly doubt they'll ever even consider skipping a year given this amount of sales.Comment

Re: If Madden and FIFA start releasing every other year, 2K should do the same thing
I remember not seeing much of a difference in NBA 2K13 and 14. The only difference I could see was that they nerfed dunking abilities considerably from 13, changed the soundtrack (thank God), and maybe some of the control schemes.
But to me, the biggest spit in the face was them using the same GUI for both games, only changing the color scheme from orange red in 13 to blue in 14. That's when the idea that 2K doesn't really work hard on their games cemented in my head.

Re: If Madden and FIFA start releasing every other year, 2K should do the same thing
LOL you guys are funny, so let me get this straight so i can present this to 2k share holders you want them to release their game every 2 years, what the benefit ? We will have a better product because of the increased production time, but didnt live 18 do this, yes they did, and did they create a better product than 2k18, NO. So in short they lose hundreds of millions of dollars potentally violating their deal with the NBA and get penalized finically, serious some of you guys should never need to start your own company. In all seriousness having a longer production time does not insure a better product, can you imagine having to wait two years if 2k released a game what was broken and could not be fixed with a patch.PSN=Coolcas7Comment

Points that have already been considered and addressed here. This is obviously coming from a consumer perspective that's spending money rather than a business perspective designed to make money.LOL you guys are funny, so let me get this straight so i can present this to 2k share holders you want them to release their game every 2 years, what the benefit ?
