Games to Watch: 2019 Week 1

The second user season is almost here, the hype is real.

So let’s take a look at Week 1, and see what games on tap could help define the 2019 season.

We start with a matchup up the two best divisions in AWFL, the AFCW and NFCN

DENVER @ MINNESOTA

The Broncos hope they have found their QB of the future in Carroll Jarmon. His early tests will be to see how well he can hand the ball off to CJ Anderson and Devonte Booker.

While in Minnesota, Former Broncos QB Tyrod Taylor sits atop the depth chart ahead of Teddy “2 Gloves” Bridgewater.

Prediction: Both teams will look to run the ball heavily. As both teams posses a solid if not great defense.
Denver 24 - Minnesota 17

We travel to sunny Florida next as one of the seasons favorites takes on what most see as a pretender.

PITTSBURGH @ MIAMI

The Dolphins are another team with a new young QB in Alexander Morton. While the Steelers are still hanging on to what’s left of Ben Roethlisbergers career.

Pittsburgh started off hot in the first user season at 6-1. But struggled late and seems to be an easy pick to lose in the playoffs.

Miami is led by its defense, most notably LB Raekwon McMillan.

Prediction: The game might be close, as the Pitt team has the offensive talent to keep up with anyone. But in the end. The better coach will win.
Pittsburgh 14 - Miami 28

The game that I personally am most looking forward to isn’t officially listed as the best game. But can be the most intriguing.

OAKLAND @ HOUSTON

The Raiders are making moves. They have given up a lot, in SS Karl Joseph, but what they acquired in RB Zeke Elliot could push them where they feel they deserve to be.

Houston struggled early. A lack of practice time and new players mixed in saw them miss the playoffs for the first time in a long time. And they weren’t given any help with this early matchup.

Prediction: If the Texans lead by Deshaun Watson can put points on the board. They can compete with anyone. Mostly by not throwing the ball to the other team for points. But with a new toy, the Raiders are going to be hard to stop.
Oakland 34 - Houston 21

And finally, the official GAME OF THE WEEK.

DALLAS @ GREEN BAY

The defending (sim season) Champion Green Bay Packers host the perennial playoff contending Dallas Cowboys in a ‘uge Week 1 matchup on Thursday Night Football.

Dallas has shipped off Zeke, but in doing so may have created a secondary that cannot be rivaled.

Green Bay continues to draft well while also bringing in veterans to fill holes. The WR corps isn’t what it used to be, in giving up Randall Cobb. But if the young WRs and Adams can hold up, and the RBs can stay healthy. The Packers will look to repeat.

Two Free Agent acquisitions fill the hole left by Elliot, as Dallas looks to Ware and Yeldon to carry the team behind one of the best OLines in the league.

Prediction: Who knows? Is it a shoot out? Or a defensive battle? Can Dak hang with A-Rodge? Or will Jaylon “Bae” Smith do all the work for him? I honestly don’t know. So I give the defending champs the edge.
Dallas 24 - Green Bay 28

We only talked about 4 of the 16 games that are on tap for week 1. There are many stories to be told. Upsets. Breakout performances.

It’s ganna be fun.
