Anyone had success with pure lockdown?

I created a pure lockdown point to try out in Pro AM walkon mostly. I wanted to try the style of play where I want to really shutdown the opposing point and generate transition steals and such.

Sometimes it can be really fun. I had one Pro Am game where the opposing 90 rated slasher on the other team decided to iso me the last 8 possessions and I shut him down with a block and a steal to win a very close game.

Unfortunately, the ball handling cap on this build is ridiculously low. With the ball I move like a center and am a turnover waiting to happen. Given that this is not a popular build and is likely underpowered to begin with, given it has very little offensive ability, I think this was a big balance mistake on 2Ks part. I don't expect to be crossing people up like Kyrie, but I do expect to be able to dribble past a defender without bouncing the ball off my foot.

Never had a PG, but last year my main build was a LDD, and this year I'm using a Dn3 blend (both SFs). I would not recommend pure LDDs at point guard unless the team is running with another ball handler. As a spot up the build is pretty 'bad'. As a regular ball handler, catastrophic.

Haven’t made one but if you just make sure your team has some serious fire power . This build takes a bigger hit offensively than pure sharps take defensively .

Well as I said I can live with the lack of scoring. But the ball handling and speed with ball means you can even accomplishing being up the ball or moving around the perimeter if the defender applies any pressure.

I’m sure you can that’s why I mentioned your team ! Especially walk on . Those guys need carrying so much offensively .

The ballhandling will cause you to lose the ball easily Abdullah’s the speed with ball is crap.

Only in Park (haven't tried other modes), but yes, absolutely.

I find it's almost better to have an offensive secondary than pure defensive, but pure is incredibly helpful.

For example, one of my favorite combos for park is:

6'8 playmaking defender (wish I made him 6'10 but oh well) that can lock up essentially anyone. Quick enough for the guards and with Gold Defensive Stopper / Silver Rim Proctector / Gold Bruiser, can hold his own with the bigs

6'4 shot creating sharpshooter that shoots lights out, so, so many gold shooting badges

7'3 sharpshooting rim protector that holds down the paint and hits open 3s

I have a pure LDD m 6'10 SF, I love playing with him.

Yes the ball speed sucks as, but the passing is very good.

I just move all the time and cut.

Athleticism is good, I have contact dunks, posterized silver and dunks goes pretty high.

I don't think u can really judge the build until you get HOF badges.

If my HOF cancels out everyone's gold badges, it's gonna be lot.

Most dual archetypes stop at Gold Badges..

              I'm close, we will see
