    Signature AI

With UFC 3, the devs allowed the Gamechangers to provide input on a few aspects of the game and signature AI tendencies is one of them. These tendencies will determine things like how they defend, how often they clinch or attempt takedowns, where part of the body they attempt to hit....among other things.

The tendencies were determined through a number of methods:

1)Watching fights: The team watched a few of the most recent fights for each fighter and documented their actions.

2)Stats: The team utilized stats from sites like Fightmetric and ESPN to determine things like strike targets and how often takedowns were attempted.

3)Discussion amongst the devs and gamechangers.

The beta will have signature AI tendecies for the following fighters:

    Eddie Alvarez
    Nate Diaz
    Khabib N.
    Anthony Pettis
    Conor McGregor
    Edson Barboza
    Tony Ferguson
    Michael Chiesa

The other fighters will have generic tendencies based on their fight style.

Here is where you guys come in:

The beta will have the "fight now" mode so you will be able to test the AI and each of its difficulties. So here are some of the things to look for:

    - When fighting a specific fighter, does it resemble how he actually fights? Is he using a defensive technique too often or too little? Is he shooting for takedowns or entering the clinch to often or too little? Is he attempting kicks more often than he doesnt in real life?

    - Aggression: this was my biggest concern when playing the game in August. Skynet and I discussed some ways to make the AI less aggressive (depending on the fighter) and some of those things are in the beta? Let the team know how aggressive the AI is and if possible post videos of fights where the AI is too aggressive or not aggressive enough.

    - Difficulty: Is the game too easy or too hard at the higher levels?

Post all of your feedback in this thread. Thanks.

Yes. Seeing alot of my favorite guys in this list makes me so happy. This is a welcome feature if it works out. I'll for sure be playing against all of them on the highest difficulty to see if they're harder than the last game.

For sure, I,m a online player, but in UFC 3 my preferences are to play versus the AI over and over again.

Play the beta: all my plans for next week lol

Just began the most looong weekend ever lol !!

So are they planning to do fighter specific A.I. for the rest of the roster or is this it? Surely they will give other fighters this treatment, at least the top fighters in each division if nothing else. Seems like in UFC 2,every fighter had the generic A.I. because Machida pushed forward and fought aggressively as Diego Sanchez.

Every fighter in UFC 2 didn’t have the same AI. Some were aggressive. Some were somewhat passive. Some had limitations on the strikes they through. Some wouldn’t attempt takedowns. The problem was with 250 fighters there weren’t enough of them that had different AI and the tendencies specialization didn’t go as deep as what the team did with ufc 3.

This isn’t it. There is fighter customization for some of the top fighters in each division. I’m hoping that after release Skynet will add more through patches but that depends on if he has the time.

Keep in mind that things like the hard combos and hopefully realistic move sets will make it so fighters feel different even if they don’t have the customization.

What are we talking about here when we say fighter customization? the combo sets?

Its fighter's tendencies during a fight. For example, lets take Nate Diaz and Edson Barboza. Under the settings we currently have, Nate should throw mostly punches, shouldnt attempt many (if any takedowns) and should be mostly a headhunter when throwing punches.

Now Barboza should throw more kicks than most fighters, should never attempt takedowns and when he is taken down should look to getup when taken down (not attempt subs or sweeps).

Now the tendencies control more than what I just mentioned. What I'm most interested in is seeing if FEELS like you are fighting Diaz or Barboza. If Diaz is throwing nothing but headkicks and shooting for 4 takedowns a round....thats a problem.

Will they post a list of which AIs have the signature tendencies in the final game? It'd be a good way to narrow down the roster for universe purposes.
Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)

If stunned, will Tony Ferguson slip on the MetroPCS sticker in the middle of the Octagon?
