I personally love the idea of having a contract with goals to achieve As well as idea that you can be cut if you underperform and that would spell the end of your career. I also am very interested to see why the new training program looks like and how it sounds like a neat balancing act to prepare for your fights. It’s just very refreshing to see that there was a lot of new work and mechanics put into this mode that seem like it will be very fleshed out.

More career mode details
Not sure how many people have seen this yet but figured I would share to get those offline career mode guys excited.

Re: More career mode details
Not sure how I feel about getting cut from the UFC means the end of your career. On one end it makes a losing streak VERY dangerous and adds weight to every fight. On the other hand its unrealistic and prevents career resurgences like Robbie Lawler and rumble johnson

Re: More career mode details
I hope they added voices for our CAFs, in the wwe games for example, the lack of voices during the popularity events were a huge gamebreaker, it was just weird and unsettling.
I also hope the dev team will let us set the language to english for both audio and text, because in the wwe games popularity events translations were pretty bad, and didn't reflect what would actually be said.
If they implemented the same system, where you have to choose the best sentence out of 3 possibilities, bad translations would be super frustrating. So just let us set everything in english pretty please.
Also, will we the game include swear words ? Because thrash talk without vulgarity is gonna be super lame !Comment

Re: More career mode details
That’s actually a really good point I didn’t think about. If they gave an option after a long losing streak to change division that might be a solution to that and Ann opportunity to have a resurgence in another division. Not sure how I feel about getting cut from the UFC means the end of your career. Re: More career mode details
I think that the best way to handle that would be getting cut from the UFC in case of too many L, then you should have multiple choices, like going back to WFA, with a possibility to come back to the UFC if you win enough fights, just retire or maybe take some time off to improve you skills and go back to the UFC stronger than ever (the last option only given to fighters with great carrer)
Something along those lines would be awesomeComment

Re: More career mode details
And THIS is why I've been saying MMA games need to focus more on modes based around managing entire camps instead of one individual fighter. If you can control an entire camp of fighters (say up to 10) you can have 40 fights and possibly just be starting year 2. There's so much more longevity this way and you can keep the real fighters in the top 15 throughout more fights while possibly only needing 5 or 6 UFC fights to get a title shot for your individual fighters.“When you start career mode you start in WFA in 2017: By the time you get to winning your first UFC title, a fictional seven, eight or maybe nine years has gone by,” Hayes said. “The same amount of time has not gone by in real life; maybe two or three days. If we retire (fighters) along a realistic timeline, all the UFC fighters will be gone. Nine years from now, from the current top-15 in UFC in any division, who is still going to be around? Maybe one guy?
“We could retire everybody before you get to face them and you end up fighting a bunch of generic created fight. You’re going to end up fighting a 40-something Conor McGregor who still has good ratings. You’re playing career mode because you want to fight against UFC fighters that you know.”
Ferguson has had 13 fights in 6 years; Ngannou, 6 fights in 3 years to get a title shot in the UFC. You can end up having fighters go either route. It wouldn't feel cheap or too quick if you create a fighter and they get a title shot after only 6 fights in the UFC. Or you can of course use a regular roster fighter as well, but I've gone through this idea a few times and just primarily focusing on the dev team's dilemma with only using a single player career mode and how it could be fixed by thinking about adding a sort of "Universe"/Fight Camp Mode.
Besides the generic fight modes, I think MMA games need a non-linear story mode for a single-player career mode and this camp mode that can also be a "Universe" mode where you can also add CAFs within the "Universe" (online & offline).Last edited by TheGentlemanGhost; 12-30-2017, 03:49 PM.Comment

This. I'd love to be able to get cut back to the WFA, then go on a tear, perhaps in another weight class, then get the call back al la Lawler, Rumble, ect.Comment

Re: More career mode details
Whatever they do, ensuring we fight real UFC fighters for the large majority of our career is a must. Smacking (or getting beat by) the occasional newcomer will be fun as well, but it absolutely should not be like UFC 2 where you fight real fighters about 5-6 times.Comment

Re: More career mode details
I Think We Should Be Able To Have 3-4 Fights In A Year So We Can Climb Rankings Quicker Like How It Is Now , Cynthia Calvillo Had 4 Fights This Year And Got To #6 In The Ranks. So I Don’t Think It Should Take 6-7 Years To Get A Title Fight, Another Example Would Be Volkan Oezdemir He Has 4 Fights This Year And Is Fighting For The Title Now. That Would Off Set The Issue With Aging Fighters In Career Mode And Allow Us To Fight All The Fighters On The Roster Instead Of A Couple Old UFC Guys And A Bunch Of CAFSComment

Especially if we win a fight quick without taking much damage, it’s be nice to be offered another fight quickly.I Think We Should Be Able To Have 3-4 Fights In A Year So We Can Climb Rankings Quicker Like How It Is Now , Cynthia Calvillo Had 4 Fights This Year And Got To #6 In The Ranks. I agree, I think it should be more like real life... if you get ko'ed or are in a tough fight you may receive a medical suspension and be held back. If not you can be back as soon as they can get you a fight.Comment
