Try Career without the HUD at least once

I highly recommend trying career mode (at least first fight or two), without the HUD on guys!!

For me it really affected my output, and made me fight a lot more strategically. It just felt better. They have done an amazing job with the AI so far, and the stamina is SO much better than the previous games. WOW guys , truly, hats off on this area!!!

GPD: I know you didn't want to remove the meters, but PLEASE allow an option to show only player HUD in career mode. Until this is done I will keep playing with the HUD off because it just feels and looks so much better this way. But if I had the option to play with only my HUD up, I'd probably give that a try.

Not even sure I'd want it, but it seems logical I would be able to know my own stamina a little better. Though without it I've done just fine in the past couple games, both on and offline.

This is how I always play. The danger and strategy is much more real when you don't have a bar showing health or stamina. It's visual cues that show whether or not a guy is gassing out or hurt, and you've gotta know when to pounce. I love it. Can't wait to get my hands back on it after the long wait since the beta.

How is Career Mode overall? I'm really disappointed in hearing that there is no fight history for your CAF this year, similar to last year, but I'm still excited for everything else.

Totally agree, in addition to it just feeling better and improving my personal fight pacing. It REALLY brings out the danger and excitement in the fights for me. Something that is entirely absent when I play with the HUD on. My last fight was so exciting in the third round, my opponent started pressing and it was really tense not knowing what could happen. It's hard to describe, for others but I HIGHLY suggest all at least give this a go. It makes the game 100% better in my opinion.

About the Career mode question. I haven't played very far yet, but it feels really good, the AI feels good, the damage and stamina are A LOT better than the previous games. And like we said, if you turn off the HUD , it basically cranks up everything to 11 and makes this a seriously dangerous game. Every strikes feels important, which with the HUD on, I just don't get that vibe at all.

I'll probably remove the grappling HUD, once I get used to the cage positions and my CAF's utter lack of throws. lol

Oh yeah, I shoulda clarified on that. I remove the stamina and damage HUDs. I have always kept the grappling HUD on because I didn't think it'd add much to the 'suspense' with it off, but maybe I should give it a try sometime.

For what it's worth: I'm not trying to be all hardcore or anything (hence keeping grappling HUD on), I just wanted to add back the intensity and uncertainty that I love about MMA that just isn't there with the main HUD.

@GPD & Company: Another thing... Can you please add an option to remove the Grapple Advantage meter too? I like playing with the HUD off, but the GA HUD is still up there which does absolutely nothing for me. Being that I don't really look at it for useful information all it does is take away from the immersion by having some weird bars on the top middle of my screen. Would this be possible in a patch (at least for career mode)?

            * Remove Opponent Stamina & Damage HUD (or at least an option in Career mode/Single player)
            * Remove the Grapple advantage HUD (or at least an option in Career mode/Single player)

            Thanks in advance!

You can already remove the grapple advantage HUD, it should be in the options menu. I play with no HUD most of the time so I would know lol

Not a bad idea at all, I get pretty bored w/ Single Player/Career ---

Hoping that this go-around the AI Improvement makes it more interesting --- and maybe playing w/o HUD will make it more fun for me too!

Re: Try Career without the HUD at least once

I play UFC 2 offline without the HUD all the time. It's a way better experience because I'll actually make mistakes, I'll throw that one extra low kick or whatever and empty my short term stamina and get countered hard, I'll be too aggressive with my transitions on the ground and get swept, I'll get the direction wrong on a submission/clinch throw and miss the window where I have the grapple advantage and the opponent will transition out or regain enough stamina to defend.

All these kind of things help make the fights way more competitive and interesting than they would otherwise be, because I have to pay attention. However, I'm probably not going to play 3 with the HUD off for a week or so, as I think getting a feel for all those things without the HUD would just be a nightmare.
