In ranked it should be random. Sometimes someone in your division, sometimes a noob. Just like in UFC undisputed 3. Once in a while you need a confidence booster after getting beat.

Would you also be placed in a squash match against someone much higher rated too? Because that's the only way your proposal works.

You need to realize, it's pretty demotivating to those "noobs" you boost your confidence against.

Too bad that's not how you keep an online game alive. Imagine everybody in call of duty being forced to play people their skill level EVERY TIME. Ya no, the game would die.

A fun game lets you slap noobs around from time to time.

Ya thats no problem. It will be a learning experience. What I dont want is to be in an all out stressful fight every single damn time. Once in a while I want to just relax and play without sweating.

This is more of a gameplay problem than a skill problem. In other games, if you fight people with the same skill, you have a fun back and forth battle. In this game, if you are close in skill to your opponent the game just becomes a stalemate, back and forth rock em sock em robots until one of you is declared the winner.

EA UFC 3 just isn't fun to play. It's more of a toy than a game.

I thought the whole idea of ranked was that you rank up and fight players on roughly the same plain as you.

Kind of a negative point here but if you feel you need a 'confidence' booster by beating a random noob because you keep losing, maybe you're one of the lower level players in this situation and you shouldn't be deciding how ranked works.

"Ranked" is tracking your score in a game. It doesn't mean your opinion is more legitimate than someone else's opinion.
