    This is EXACTLY what is killing me about takedowns right now

    This is a 100% perfect example of what is absolutely killing me about takedowns right now.

    I timed the PERFECT takedown and it got stuffed for absolutely no reason. This should absolutely be an automatic takedown. EVERYTHING is in place.

    I evaded the whiffed body kick and timed the TD perfectly, using Cain Velasquez with 100% stamina against Francis Ngannou with almost no stamina.

    I timed the TD so perfectly I was BEHIND Ngannou when the animation connected, but his leg somehow clipped through my arms and he managed to magically stuff the takedown into sprawl no less.

    If I can time a perfect takedown off of a whiff with a takedown expert who has full stamina against someone who is standing on one leg, has no stamina, and bad takedown defense and still be stuffed into sprawl, what chance do I have in any other scenario?

    This is a perfect takedown and it ended up in the worst possible situation.

    I hear you this game is so inconsistent, with the lag input , submission from hell , needs patched big time, ... like the game but not loving it !

      Yeah, takedown offense really needs to be worked on. I have a couple of situations like yours that really frustrated me. I even experienced a situation where I was leaning forward for the ga, my opponent kicked over my head, I took the shot and got stuffed.

      Definitely something wrong there.

        I really, really, really wish they could have used RPM with the takedown game. It just looks so unnatural and goofy compared to the standup. Could have lived with the ground game being what it is, but the takedowns/clinch are very much part of the standup game that they overhauled, and it just feels kind of awkward in comparison.

          They want to force people to play stand up. Same reason why subs were changed for no reason.

            TD denial windows need to be shortened

            Shrug off animations for pre emptive denials

            Sprawls for early denials on reaction
            End up in a clinch situation for late
            Everything else a TD

              That's fine. I think my issue with it might be more aesthetic than gameplay-wise. Takedowns/clinch feel like you're playing a totally different game from UFC 3, and it doesn't feel natural. I was worried about this after the beta.

              It could work exactly the same as it does now, but if the animations were fresh and new with the same tech they used for striking, so it all blends in together, it would add like SO much to the game to me.

                C'mon guys. For 2 the whole dev cycle was on clinch/ground, and that was where you could do the most damage and effectively win fights. 3's whole cycle has been on the standup so they've completely nuked the clinch/ground.


                You can't tell me you didn't see this coming. I bought the damn game anyway and I kind of regret it.

                  This has been an issue since the beta. I’m not sure how it got past the GCs unless they only focused on the striking and never any takedowns or clinch. There are input delays. Many times have I tried to clinch or shoot for a takedown to stand there with a thumb up my ***, and have to input them a second or third time to go through, by that point your chance is gone, or you’ve eaten a few shots unblocked. Its just a bad when you drop someone and can’t dive on them and they stand back up, or if its an active knockdown and you go to shoot a takedown the second they get up but just stand there.

                  Takedowns and clinch entry are terrible, then add to the fact the window to deny is so massive, you could most likely input a 4-5 strike combo and be done faster than the takedown hud fills. The best chance for a takedown is a whiffed kick with their back against the cage. Even then it isn’t 100%. In UFC 2 I had takedowns perfected. I knew exactly how much GA everything gave, exactly when to shoot... I could take people down off a jab at times and have no issues... this game I need the heavens to line up perfectly and some luck, to score a takedown

                    TDD is so overpowered, no fun atm tobgo for TDs. also way too much sprawls. and on top of that the sprawls are super slow.

                      Even striking is flawed big time ... had a guy throw 214 strikes in the first round .... 89 in the second ... still had stamina to bang in the third ...

                        Because stamina has big deal when only envaded. Lack of amount strikes.. Thats why Combo spamming now.

                          Your not the only one, I regret buying this game as well, the input lag oh man, sometimes I press the buttons for a takedown and my "guy" just stands there like a R-tard taking shots.

                          I'm putting the game down till this get's fixed, I should have waited a couple of months till everything is fixed but since I'm a MMA junkie I couldn't.

                            Same goes for me lol. I hope they nerf takedown defense asap as well as the overpowered high block and those stamina issues. Had one Dodson today throwing 260 strikes in the first round. after another 90 strikes in the second he knocked me out. he had more stamina left than me and like 90% overall!

                              lol No matter how much the AI throws he will always and I mean ALWAYS have more stamina than you, lmao.

                              I feel like the AI could throw 1000 strikes a round and still have more stamina than me, no matter if they miss or not, they always have almost full stamina

                              Takedown's sometimes don't even register at all, sometimes I go for a takedown and I just stay still there taking shots from my opponent like a r-tard

                              Also not forgetting the AI blocks everything, it feels like a boss battle in a RPG game, holy jesus(lol) they block everything, don't even try to go for the body they block 99% of the time
