Why are there no Classic versions of fighters?

Does the fighter have to retire to have good stats again?

      Yes that bothers me too.

i would like to use TRT Vitor prime Shogun, Machida, Anderson etc..
      2k18 fixes

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

      Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

Yup I would love to see prime versions for sure

          Prime Hendo!!!! for one

Some of the fighters I suppose we can consider 'prime' (at least in their UFC days) like Rampage, Chuck, etc ----

Yeah, Seems they gave a few fighters prime stats and others not. I don't really understand why

Because classic versions of fighters aren't as good as the newer, more complete fighters.

Their health stats should probably be as good as most though.

Been wondering this myself... i get having a current version of legends but even a buy-able legends fighter pack would be awesome... id pay for it... it sucks having to use shells of once great fighters... GSP sure as hell got his prime ratings tho.... smh....

You really have a perverse view of the sport if you think things have changed that much.

It really depends what specific examples you use, heavyweight has probably changed the least and prime Nog or Fedor or Cro Cop would probably do okay (assuming USADA doesn't ruin any of them), but how competitive do you think Mike Brown would be with Max Holloway? Or Matt Hughes with Woodley, or Jens Pulver with Tony Ferguson or Rich Franklin with Yoel Romero or Chuck Liddell with Jon Jones?

Yes. If he is an active fighter, the ratings are based on his skill today.

Even if they are retired, their stats are a mix based on their level of skill in their prime, their level of skill towards the end and the level of competition when they fought.

You really think current Jon Jones or DC vs Pride era Nog brothers lasts longer than 3 minutes?

I mean look at Dillashaw if you think things haven't changed that much.

Yes the sport is always evolving, Not jsut the fighters new techniques are being thrown like the oblique kick and low calf kick that wasnt being thrown back in the early UFC days. Athletes are becoming more well rounded then being a specialist in one area. The athletes today skillwise will definatly overpower the ones from last era. But health wise you cant deny their heart and toughness.
