Has anyone been called up yet?

This may or may not be a cause for concern: I’ve dumped a lot of time into this game since release and have worked my way up to a 75 OVR as a Catcher for the Orioles. I’m the best player on the AA roster and the 2nd best Catcher on the entire team; however, I’m starting my 3rd season still in AA. I’ve played 75% of my games and posted fairly good numbers.

Has anyone been called up yet? If so, what’s the timetable?

Re: Has anyone been called up yet?

If you check out the official Road To The Show thread, there are lots of players who have had their character called up. I haven't spent much time with RTTS in 18 myself, but if it's anything like 17 and 16, my experience was that I would never get called up to the Bigs if there was a player at my position in the organization with a higher rating (or even about the same or slightly lower). I'm not saying that that that is righteous or just, but just that it is.

I am, however, surprised that you haven't been called to AAA. That does seem peculiar.

That’s kinda weird. Maybe you should ask for a trade.

My RF for the AA New Hampshire Fishercats was called up the very next season to the AAA Buffalo Bisons. I am just beginning my play there for 2019 season. So I guess it can happen

I have a 3rd baseman who was called up from AA to MLB after about 300 plate appearances. I wish I was called up to AAA instead.

Funnily enough, five minutes after I posted this, I was invited to spring training. I did well and made the 40 man roster but I’m coming off the bench at a 77 OVR, which is fine by me seeing as Chance Sisco is only a 78. I went 1-4 in my first game with two strikeouts...but with a walkoff homer in the bottom of the 10th. How sweet it is.

Those of you who got called up by season 2, what archetypes/positions are you?

I picked Mr. Reliable because it seems like the best overall build but I feel like my hitting attributes started much lower than I expected them too. Just not sure how they'll look by seasons end

My starting pitcher got called up to AAA before the all star break of my first year - I might actually have a chance of cracking the majors this year if I keep performing as well as I am

I, too, chose Mr. Reliable. Halfway through my first season in the Majors (3rd overall), my Contact and Power are in the low 60s for RHPs and high 50s for LHPs. I think the max cap for power is 75 and contact is in the 90s.

Re: Has anyone been called up yet?

I said this in the RTTS thread. I was in AA and hit 43 homeruns and drove in over 100

my overall was pretty low still and I started the next season in AA too

I just simmed the rest of my minor league career just to see what would happen - I didn't get called up until 2021

The only youtuber i've seen thus far to date to get called up was the same way (it was 2020). This game makes you spend a little time in the minor leagues, get comfortable.

I'm also not buying all these people saying they got called up in their first season - prominent youtubers that are actually IN THE GAME are still in the minor leagues, and they've had the game for a week just like we have.

Haven't read any other replies in this thread.

I was a SS for the Orioles also. I played my first year in AA, got called up to AAA to finish out year one. Then the Orioles brought me in for spring training in year two, and I've been the starting short stop ever since...

I did force them to trade me, since the O's are garbage, and I'm too good of a player to play for a crappy franchise. I'm on a loaded Mariners team now with Altuve and JD Martinez.

I started a completely new player as a left fielder

I got lucky and got drafted by the Braves (#gobraves) who has 0 left fielders at the big league level (default rosters)

I got called up to the MLB in a month.

Re: Has anyone been called up yet?

Approaching the All Star Break, my pitcher is 9-1 with an ERA hovering around 2.50 in AA. I almost don't want to be called up yet, I'm enjoying my team and we are 5 games up in the division. I want to spend the entire season at AA and try to win a championship.

Year 2, I wouldn't mind skipping AAA and going straight to the majors. We shall see what happens. I'm in the Reds organization and I hope they don't trade me. For some reason in RTTS I always get traded multiple times in my first 3 or 4 years. It's unrealistic. And somehow I always end up in the AL. I want to stay in the NL until free agency and then of course sign with my beloved Yankees.

Re: Has anyone been called up yet?

Worked my way up to a solid 86 before being put in the MLB starting lineup, which was incredibly frustrating since the starting catcher was a measly 72 OVR. Even then and with high durability, I couldn’t stay in the starting lineup.

Asked for a trade to Kansas City, which by 2025, is the pit of baseball misery. Currently batting .325, 7 HRs, 26 RBIs, and our team sits at a paltry 15-27.

                            I just can’t win lmao

I started out as Reliable 2b at 18 years old. Drafted by Balt. Secondary pos 3b and OF. I was on fire. Batting almost 500 at 33 games in AA. promoted to AAA, they moved me to 3b. With 5 games remaining in the AAA season, I was informed that I was going to spring training for the bigs.

Made the Balt roster and I am in to the All star break. Still playing 3b as the starter. I was lucky they didn't have a great 3b pro or anyone great in the minors. I am only a 68 C. I am not a fan of Balt and was hoping maybe the Indians would need a 2b with Kipy getting old.
