Three Ways PES Could Improve
As the clocks in the United States have sprung forward, it's time to take a look... Written By: Kevin Groves Click here to view the article. |
The presentation in PES is so dreadful, I don't know how they could improve it. They have the worst audio of any sports game. Field graphics, lighting and broadcast layout are woefully behind FIFA too. FIFA's gameplay has fallen off a cliff to the point that PES is far in front, but I agree with some of posters points about tactics. If PES could add more options for editing and improve Master League they could compete with FIFA for offline gamers simply because of how terrible of a job EA has done.

I liked PES a lot this year but ultimately the downfall was the lack of penalties. In 2 seasons I didn’t have 1.*

Re: Three Ways PES Could Improve
Just me, I suppose. I couldn't possibly disagree more with everythingin this article. Which is rare. I can usually see eye to eye on at least one point. The only one I don't care about one way or the other is community which doesn't matter to me because the patch I'm using makes the game more thoroughly complete and accurate than FIFA. I just don't get the hate. But then I only play 8-12 year old sports games for every other sport. Graphics and presentation stopped interesting me in favour of realism and physics.

Forget “could”, replace with “need” lol PES needs to improve Master League and BAL. Both modes are at the bottom of what sports games offer in their franchise and player career modes. I love PES gameplay, but skipped PES 18 when I saw these modes hardly changed. Also, PES should include sliders. *It’s great they focus on gameplay, but at this point it feels like an excuse to not update the empty shell outside of it. Can we move on from retired players being *recycled onto yourh teams in ML? And the presentation...smh. They could create generic broadcast packages that vary from league to league, tournament to tournament. *I’d love to see PES get bought by another publisher, maybe Sony. *

I can admit that I'm too casual a soccer fan to do much critiquing regarding the tactical aspects of the game.* That said, these things are probably at the top of my list for improving PES going forward:
-Lighting needs a major overhaul.* The game looks like hell in anything other than sunny weather.* We need more options as far as kick off times, with different sun angles and all the things FIFA has given us for years now. -Fouls, cards and penalties all desperately need more integration -Get rid of the limits for imported images.* I have 1 TB of memory on my PS4 Pro, let me use it! -Nerf the shooting.* I'm so tired of seeing 5 or 6 goals so frequently in 20 minute games. -Improve AI, specifically defensive aggression and GKs. -Bring back the stadium creator.* Let the file makers work their magic. |
Re: Three Ways PES Could Improve
Just read Adam Bhatti's interview with GamesRadar https://www.gamesradar.com/we-want-t...form-pes-2019/
This was back in December so I know I'm late. But what I got from the interview is that they finally realize they need to work on the single player modes significantly. Apparently, significant changes are coming to PES 2019, so I'm incredibly hyped. Hopefully won't be let down. A revamped ML and BAL would be AMAZING. He says it's a 2 year project, for whatever that's worth. Maybe they'll give one mode a deep revamp and the other will get one next year. Hopefully this focus on "overall package" that meets the standard of the on-pitch gameplay includes presentation. Looking forward to E3 news! |
PES really needs to fix, overhaul, or revamp their transfer logic in ML. Whether its teams transferring players who just recently arrived, or teams (Crystal Palace) transferring almost their entire roster in the 1st summer transfer window, or teams transferring their best players for no specific reason. Something needs to be done. Giving us the option to disable the 1st summer transfer window would help. * *Also, why add a mode like random selection and not make it an online mode? Totally a missed opportunity there. * * *Finally, why get partnerships with teams (Fulham, Valencia) if we have to wait until PES 2019 reap the benefits of the partnership, like stadiums, faces, tattoos, etc. Hopefully that won't be the case with partnered teams in PES 2019.
