It was asked in another thread whether or not it was time for a dedicated thread for discussing Funko POP! Vinyl figures. I decided to go out on a limb and start up the talk about our favorite grown kid collection item. I guess we'll find out if there's any traction.

There's lots of great either already out or on there way. I just started collecting in December and love it. I haven't really collected anything since sports cards back in the mid-90's and am definitely making up for the lost collecting time with pops.

I've got those main two Coming to America's pre-ordered and have all of these below (with the exception of the Squints/Wendy 2-Pack -with the only reason being is because it's a Target Exclusive and they don't have pre-orders) on pre-order as well. Those are three classic movies that I loved growing up so I had to have them.

Princess Bride Pops are due out in May, Sandlot pops in June and these are next month.

Yeah, I pre-ordered the same Sandlot figures. Didn't really want the Squints/Wendy set.

My cousin just started collecting in December also. I think I created a monster, lol. I've got a pretty decent collection, and have been focusing on sets and special/limited/chase editions. I've been putting them in display cases around my gameroom/theater:



Funny to see how the value increased for some of the early ones, that I got for like $3-4 at Walgreens.

The Sandlot ones are going to be hard for me to resist.

I really want Zatanna and Constantine. With all the DC characters they've done, I'm surprised they haven't made them yet.

For the sports ones, I told myself I was just going to stick to my teams. So I got Montana, Kaepernick, Crosby and Malkin. But like any good Tennessee fan, I had to get Peyton. Then I found these and had to add them to my collection:

Looking for the OG Dustin from Stranger things. Trying to find it in store vs ordering online. Ordered some Naruto pop off eBay and they were fakes so I'm cautious now.

I feel you on your cousin. My wife just got hooked around the middle of February and she has more than me now. I originally bought her a Belle, Beast and Marshawn Lynch in late December, figuring that since I had 15-20 of these things then maybe I should get her a couple in order to keep her off of my case.

She just had those and an Amy Winehouse she bought for herself for almost two months. Then around mid-February we discovered the price guides and apps and the crap hit the fan for both of us. The thing with her is she is more quantity of quality, she will buy any thing she thinks is cute as long as it's a good deal, while I stick with collections of stuff I really like. Case and point, below is her Batman collection and the girl never even really liked Batman or Robin, Batgirl, She-Hulk, etc.. I had to make deals with her to get her to go see the Dark Knight and the Dark Night Rises.



It didn't help that the very first time we took a trip "out in the wild" we found a Chase in the very first store that we went in... An Erik Killmonger in JCPenny of all places. Talk about creating an addiction. That will do it.

Lol, that's pretty awesome! Impressive collection too. They are definitely a neat representation of just about anything in pop culture.

And finding that Chase Killmonger like that... at JCP... that's just Wow!

I need to pre-order the Princess Bride line. And catch up on my Batman series.

I'm hoping for a 2nd wave of Princess Bride pops with Fezzik (especially, after watching the Andre the Giant documentary last night) and Vizzini. I'm not sure how they were left out in the first place.

My wife is beginning to dabble in making custom pops. Right now she has just glittered some and she's getting the stuff in to make flocked ones as well. She's pretty crafty so hopefully she can get good at it so that if they don't come through with a Fezzik soon then maybe I'll see if she can make a one out of Andre's WWE pop.

There's a lot of horror pops that are really creepy, unless you're talking about unintentionally creepy and I'm sure there's plenty of those as well. For me any kind of clown, demon or zombie are all pretty creepy. Also, anything with dead or disfigured kids. This one are probably one of the most hilarious creepy ones though:

I caved and bought my 4th Pop.

I didn't realize it was a bobblehead (doesn't bother me at all) and it has sort of a metallic finish.
