amount of people online is concerning
Im on the Xbox side of things,so I don't how many people on average play on the PS4 side, but the most I see online recently at the highest is a little under 5.000.Im assuming that this game at least sold somewhere between 100k-200k.Im guessing that the PS4 side has more players,so that would be around 10k-13k at the most all together who play this game online(my math may be off and if it is please correct me).Now is it me or isn't that a bad sign that only 3 months out from the release that we barely have a little over 5-10% of people who bought this game still actively play it online?Tags: None -

On PS4 Europe on weekends it's currently not much more than 5.000 people online. That can't be successful imho. -
Re: amount of people online is concerning
The third is just following the trend of the first two. High initial sales and a slow dwindle to the hardcores, veterans. This occurs in every niche fighter.
Examples A, B.
Nothing to worry about, this pattern still secured a 3rd installment and support comes from the initial purchases on release week not who's buying it now. The numbers you see for online in "ranked" have no reflection on active player base.Comment

Re: amount of people online is concerning
Don't you think it is a problem that only hardcores and veterans play the game? Btw MMA is a fast growing sport. In the end the game isn't very good. If it would be more people would play and keep it.Comment

Re: amount of people online is concerning
mma isnt a fast growing sport anymore, u could argue it hit it's peak a couple of years back with conor and ronda. I dont know about numbers but i imagine the us has a large mma base whereas the rest of the world it still hasnt taken off to the same degree(i still hear most ppl saying it hugging etc when they're grappling). Hell bisping winning the title and being the first uk fighter to hold one it didnt even make headlines in the uk and was relegated to 5 pages into the sports section of the news. its still largely seen as cage fighting which was shown by the mainstream news when conor fought floyd. It may just be the US has a large player base for the game and europe will just have to struggle with lower numbers.
As has been said before tho, the xbox has ea access which will hurt sales and player base also there hasnt been a huge ppv(conor fighting)which pulls in allot of casual players yet in this game cycle.
Atleast where i live they are all still boxing fans and see mma fighters as thugs/street fightersLast edited by Sivo; 05-14-2018, 07:13 AM.Comment

Sales are not indicative at all as to whether a game is good or bad. Classic example is of course COD (which is a horrible franchise that keeps casuals buying new installments every year).Comment

LOL!!!!!
I honestly wasnt going to post in this thread since we've seen alot of them and the same points are being made.
What I am gonna do is bookmark this thread so that when UFC 4 has around 5k on ps4 3 mos after release, I can point to this thread and remind everyone that the same thing happened in ufc 2 and 3.Comment

correct me anybody, if i am wrong.
P.S. In our russian publics groups EA UFC 3 gets more ctiticism threads than prev EA UFC 2. I am not saying that i am agree with most of them, but this is a statistics, especially about UT. Possibly later i will make a thread about one of the cases of this situation.Last edited by SUGATA; 05-14-2018, 08:59 AM.Comment

Re: amount of people online is concerning
There have been threads explaining this. Several factors contribute to casuals shying away from the p2w or play2win system that is UT.
The sales were there so it shouldn’t concern them too much. I wouldn’t call an offline game old-fashioned or associate it negatively with sales. Will there be many latecomers who won’t buy the game because of lack of players? I doubt it. And they’ll be smashed anyway as everyone has superfighters in place that will smash their silvers to pieces and will be way more skilled.
What’s maybe troublesome is that few play the regular online mode.Comment

Keep in mind that this was during Conor and Ronda so the popularity of the UFC was bigger.Comment

Re: amount of people online is concerning
Not most of the first year. So I decided to do some research so this isnt the last time I have to address this (this isnt directed at you Sugata).
This is in July 2016 - 4 mos after release. In the first post, Morgan Monkman states that "there is an average of 6k people".
A month after release of UFC 2. Pappy Knuckles states that he saw 10k (which is similar to some of the numbers I saw for UFC 3 around February/March. I saw 12k in March) and stated that he mostly saw 3-4k for the run of UFC 1.
Now this is a key one. Big Cee says that he saw 15k in August and thats 5 months after release. Why so many? Because there was a free trial and it was at was during the Conor/Nate 2 hype. I also believe that there was a significant price drop around the same time (to 29 or 39 bucks).
So it took a price drop, a free trial and one of the biggest UFC fights ever to get the game to those numbers.
Will we ever see those numbers for UFC 3? Maybe not. Big fights typically help drive sales and right now the UFC's popularity has taken a dip. With that said, we cant determine anything at this point because UFC 3 has similar online numbers to UFC 2 at this point.Comment

I know anecdotal evidence doesn't mean squat and they have changed how matchmaking works, But with a avg of 4k players i have noticed that i am playing the same people over and over and over again. Not most of the first year. I don't remember that happening in the last games.PSNID: B_A_N_EComment

Re: amount of people online is concerning
I've Always wanted to know if that number is for ranked online only. Thats the only place you can see the playerbase, right? If its just ranked its No big deal, but of it counts qm, ut and ranked together its pretty low i agree
