Error: Cannot Update Tuning, Playbooks, Rosters, etc.

Hello All. When I load Madden for PC, I get a few error messages letting me know I can’t update the aforementioned components of the game. I’ve tried updating manually from the Origin client, but these error messages persist. Any tips / advice?

Just a guess, but do you have the proper Windows permissions set to the 'Documents/Madden NFL 19/' folder?

I have Firewall permission granted to Madden 19. Are you referencing something else?

Yup. The folder where those files are stored is on the attached screenshot. Usually there isn't an issue with permissions for that folder but there's a chance it's messed up, or those files are marked read only.

I think your advice was right on the money, as right clicking on the folder I saw it is marked as “Read Only”. However, de-selecting this box prompts a progress meter to appear as if the change is taking effect, only for the “Read Only” box to be active again when I right click on the folder.

Hey, I'm still having trouble downloading any tuning data, roster updates, and / or play-calling data when the game begins. I get three error messages back to back to back. I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer. Has anyone else had this problem?

Have you tried to repair your game? Maybe delete Origin Cache or reinstall the game.

But at first i would check your internet connection.

I would definitely try what KevO suggested, but after looking online a lot of other people were having a similar issue to what you are describing. The link I PM'd is supposed to be a fix action.

Well, folks, after weeks of trying to handle this issue, I've decided to give up. Many great solutions have been offered. I've searched online and exhausted every possible recourse. I'll just move on to a different game.
