Anyone having issues with drops?

I'm seeing lots of complains about running but my biggest issue is catching. Has something changed this year in the basic mechanics of throwing and catching the ball? I'm playing as the Giants and can't stomach the ball hitting Saquon Barkley in the back or Evan Engram in the head much more.

I throw bullet passes a lot...is that the issue? Again Ive not had this problem in earlier games.

Biggest frustration is that it happens in training drills too so I'm constantly having to repeat drills because a receiver has let the ball hit him in the face instead of trying to catch it.

I've not had too much trouble but I use touch passes whenever possible, I would advise you try more touch passes

I echo what ODogg said; I usually throw frozen ropes and have met limited success. I've started throwing more touch passes and it has helped. It may be just me, but timing seems more important this year than in years pass (which I think is a good thing).

have you tried making catches conservative so that they do possession catches?

This is what I ended up having to do in drills where I just needed to complete the pass. It isn't feasible where I'm dumping off to Barkley in the flat or on a screen though

I haven’t had any problems with drops, if anything I still see a lot of the defenders ripping the ball out of the hand.

I’ve had a few drops but mostly from WRs with lower catch ratings. I like it because those guys should drop a pass here and there. The animations are better - you can see them bobble it.

I agree, this game has gotten worlds better with catching animations, drops, etc...just in a few years

I'm having major issues with it. It's the leading reason why, in 6 hours of EA Access, I've gone from a definite buy to being ok with skipping this year. It's happening so many times a game and at the worst times. It's not even like my timing is bad.

I throw the ball to a wide open receiver perfectly out of his break. The ball hits him in the chest or head while he stretches out like the ball is over thrown. I don't get why. It's like the game is trying to force incomplete passes.

Basically this, having a great WR can totally change your passing game and needs to be your #1 priority. Seems you can't just nickel and dime teams this year with a scrub receiving cast like past games. And I guess that's fitting, considering who the cover star is.

Issues with drops, issues with throwing quickly out to the flats and receivers not reacting to thrown balls. Issues galore.

Basically this, having a great WR can totally change your passing game and needs to be your #1 priority. Seems you can't just nickel and dime teams this year with a scrub receiving cast like past games. And I guess that's fitting, considering who the cover star is.

I agree, I love the fact that it's a massive difference now from even a 80 to a 70 OVR wide receiver. We are FINALLY starting to see a real difference in players, teams, etc in how the game plays and people are going to have to get used to that. The days of the game playing mostly the same from team to team, player to player, aside from a uniform and name are over.

People have been asking for these changes for a long time...Careful what you wish for....

These drops are actual issues. I excused the 1st few times. But this is unacceptable. I feel like I'm one of the more lenient guys here when it comes to problems in these games. I could see if I was getting a proper drop animation. But I'm hitting guys in the head or chest and they decided to reach out like the pass is over thrown (That's if they decided to react at all).

I'm sure it'll be patched eventually.

I agree. My go to plays from M18 are not nearly as successful in this version. Whether it’s plays, WR routes, or ball placement. This version plays tighter. My thinking at present is that QB lead passing and throw type (lob, bullet, etc) matter a lot more in this version. The days of just throwing a bullet pass on every play are over. I like the challenge of changing the way I play.
