Hello everyone! Bard here, and we are coming back at it with our Universe Mode discussion! This year we got some late news regarding the rosters...but now that they are FINALLY starting to come out with Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate being revealed, let's do this!



What are everyone's plans for this year? Are you going to be rolling with the current roster with your own spin on it? Are you going to toss some legends in to spice things up and maybe do some dream matches? Maybe you are feeling nostalgic and want to do a past WWE/F* run of things! Hi. This forum is a great idea as I’m curious as to what everyone else is going to be doing.
So, I will be having a Universe Mode which consists of the Modern Superstars. This is going to include the Raw, Smackdown Live, NXT/NXT UK & 205 Live Rosters.
Next, I will have another Universe Mode, which consists of the older legend superstars, basically based on superstars around the attitude era. Shawn Michaels, Trish Stratus + Many more will be in this Universe Mode.

The next few game types aren’t going to be on Universe Mode. This is just going to be casual game play:
I’m going to be doing Dream matches, so Andre The Giant vs Big Show, Trish & Lita vs Bella Twins, Shawn Michaels vs Seth Rollins + Many more dream matches can finally happen.
I will also be doing a kind of career mode for superstars that have been in the company for more than 10 years, this career mode will feature the superstars championship wins, their debut, their WrestleMania matches & RoyalRumble/MITB Wins. This will apply for Big Show, John Cena, Randy Orton etc.
Then, I’m thinking of doing something with the Women. I’ll be playing the first Women’s Royal Rumble, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, first time Hell in a Cell Match, Hardcore Match, Gauntlet Match, Iron Women Match etc, + the debuts of every women to step in a WWE/WWF Ring. It’s also going to feature every Women’s WrestleMania Match.

Finally, I will be doing the new Tower Mode + Daniel Bryan’s Show Case Mode.

I’ve already decided the WWE Universal Championship plans for my Universe Mode.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do this year, but if it's on my own I will probably be doing a WWE-League again and hopefully, go further with it. Maybe streamline it a bit.

I'm thinking about picking up where I left off in 2k19, but using my 2k18 roster if that makes sense. But if I don't do that I may just do a revision of Mania and roll with it from there. I hope I don't have any problems like last year with the game resetting everything.

If we get any solid info on Universe mode this year before release, I'll make my plans from there. Definitely getting rid of the brand split and adding an extra show during the week (probably on Wednesday night).

Short on time or find universe to be a grind?

If you're running multiple shows I always found it to be a bit boring and very time consuming trying to play most of the matches.
You beat a wrestler one week and the next week you're beating the wrestler you just played as.

I recently tried universe with something of a my player feel. You run the universe normally but you only play the matches of the wrestler you are controlling right now.
So for example you are Kevin Owens going after the US belt. You let the game set up the matches normally and wrestle if scheduled. After 1 or 2 months (game time) you have hopefully made your way into the title picture. If not maybe a switch to someone new, since we want to avoid the process being boring and controlling the same wrestler for 6 months without getting a title shot could be.
Later on after you have lost the title you choose another wrestler going for a different belt.

If you choose a couple different wrestlers going for different belts from each show your universe will move fairly quickly.
This makes every match you play more meaningful as you try to work your way up the rankings to get into the title picture.
Can you hold a belt on each show or maybe the WWE and Universal champ at the same time?
Can you take one of the lowest ranked guys to the top and win the US belt?

PPV's might be the one time where you control other wrestlers since those are always more meaningful matches.

My Masters class this fall is only 8 weeks so I will be returning with my WWE-League.

Potential revamped format and I will be working on the leagues soon. Debating continuing 8-man teams or gonna simplify to 6-man teams, which would be less matches for the Team Challenge League with the 6-man counting in the overall matchup results. Might do a 6-man elimination as well.

My Universe Mode typically consists of current rosters with some tweaks using some legends mixed in. And then from there I take it in my own direction.

Some of my most memorable Universe moments:

-David Otunga cashing in Money In The Bank and defeating Stone Cold for the WWE Championship, and defending it successfully against Undertaker in Hell In A Cell

-The Miz destroying Mike Tyson and Triple H

-Roman Reigns joining the NOD

I dont have any specific plans yet. I try to let it develop organically. I dont know much about this years Universe Mode features, but hopefully it's got some good tools to let stories and rivalries develop

So here's a video by Macho T showing the new features of Universe Mode this year. It's.....fine but I don't know if it's enough for me. But I may just cave and buy it anyways lmao. Let me know what you all think.
After watching the video I realized he missed a change I like, you can now set the frequency of matches on your show that the game will generate. So if you want an all tag team show go for it, ECW style hardcore matches yup. So that's a nice change and you can even do it for rivalry matches as well. I hope this means we can change the frequency of the rivals fighting each other as well.
