When is actual release date, when is soonest I can play and how?

did a quick search. I am a 43 y old business owner, dad, so don't have a great amount of time anymore, so I apologize for not searching better for this answer. How can I play this on the 7th, on ps4pro. do I have to pre order the special addition? Or does a regular pre order allow early access? THanks in advance. I promise i put some time into searching for this, although with this last sentence, maybe not much more than the time it took to write this post :P

Pre order the special edition for $100 and you get to play Friday.

Ok, that is basically, and unfortunaltely what I thought. I won't use any of that, cuz I only play offline myleague. so i guess tuesday for me...


Now, I will just troll these forums and wait for impressions...meh.

there's a video on here suggesting you can walk in to walmart and get either standard or anniversary THIS friday. Meaning walmart always breaks street dates.

Hard copy version. Hmmm, not what I was GOING to do, but could be worth it to get it by this weekend. Camping is over, summer winding down, So ya, thanks, i might just do that.

Looks like Best Buy is selling the game Thursday night. Outside of finding a store that will sell the game early, I think Best Buy is the best you can do this year. Also not sure if other retailers are following suite.

There's no way you have to download the entire game when you own a physical copy - it installs from the disc. Patches, yes, when they come out. It does also serve the purpose of starting up the game, as you mentioned.

That's why people who own physical copies of a game are the only ones who can revert to an unpatched version of the game - because it's installing from their disc. Digital owners are stuck with whatever the current version is.

Best Buy may sell both versions on the 7th, same with Walmart, it really depends to be honest.

Talked to a guy in electronics about the anniversary edition tonight since they already had the spot up where it will be. He said it shows they have a couple in stock but was wondering why it wasn't available. If I pushed hard enough I might have been able to pick it up but I just bought xbox currency to buy it digitally. might be worth checking out a Wal-Mart if there is a worker that isn't super knowledgeable about gaming and street dates.

I asked the same question. I'm just going to head out to walmart, bestbuy, and maybe gamestop to hunt for it. If the have it i'll buy, If not then it's the 11th i guess.

I quit buying hard copies of games about two years ago. I mostly PC game (steam) and even on my PS4, i finally made the reluctant switch to digital only in 2016. I was surprised how much I liked it. Not fighting lines, looking around for games, dealing w stinky folk in line. So, Ya, I think even though I saw the light, and with the PS4 Pro, and larger HDD was finally convinced to go the digital route, I will go out and about Friday night. I will rub elbows with the helpful clerks at Walmart, maybe give knucks to the pimply face kid at my local game stop (oh and the ever cool dude, Nick I believe with white eyelashes), or maybe even head to target, see if I can convince the guy hiding in electronics to open the glass case. Ya, that sounds fun, I will hearken back to the good ole days.
