So a lot of people were saying "Bring back Jordan Rec!"

Wow so much better

- No shootaround, let's instead wait around for 20min in a locker room
- No hop in and play, you need 5 to even play
- The actual gameplay is trash. Way more sluggish feel to the gameplay. Something about the court size feels OFF.
- Worse camera angles. Too zoomed out
- In the arena with more teams = more lag vs 1 arena 10 players

yes and because of that court size...those cheese zone defense really terrible..those guys are not intend to play any defense....all they do is stand & press X/口 LIKE a mad man or try to use their body to "steal" you ball....It become a joke....

this rec center simply just a version of 50% of rec & 50% of walkon.....2K always hype you up with a familiar name but different thing & the result is always ugly

I agree the standing in the locker room is stupid.

Walkon was never hop in and play either......

While the court does still feel a little too small it's not even close to as small as last year's walk on court

Last year's walk on was SOOOOOO sluggish and clunky. Rec center this year is definitely more Fluid. Much more than the park games I've played. I can actually fully control my guy and not feel restricted.

Those other courts with players playing has 0 impact on your game and your connection.
1. You don't even know if that's actual players it could just be for looks and it's just CPU players running around.
2. Let's say they are real and there's 4 courts going off in addition to yours. That's 40 people. Okay... I was just on the park and there was 68 ppl..... Do the math. They have 0 impact on your connection quality.

1. They're real players. When a new game starts, you can see players walk on to the court. At least that was how it was last time they had Rec. And I don't know what kinda math you're using, my math says 10 players is less than 40, so hmm I wonder what's going to be optimal lag?

2. So you're telling me you'd rather wait to find 5 ppl instead of hopping in and play (even if it was 6, 8, 10 players). Well I guess you have endless time to just wait 30min for a game, or to invite everyone to the court and make sure it all works. Ain't nobody wanna wait that long, they want to get in the game asap.

3. Last year's gameplay was way better than this. Do you know how many games I've seen a post player get like 5-8 steals? foh

Even besides the gameplay, the whole experience of sitting in a locker room waiting for players to show up was idiotic when they had it the first time and still is now. This game went backwards period.

Yup, I've played more walkon than I ever did Rec the first time because it's less of a headache both the loading in part and the gameplay experience.

When people talk about their love for the Rec Center, its the 2k15 Rec Center...with 10 spots on the side (it was working little like actual park or like the ballers 4 vs 4 in 2k16)

They should’ve just rebranded Walk On to Jordan Walk on or Jordan Rec Center if it was all about that $$$.

The new mode is several steps back after a fairly decent Walk On mode last year.

If anything, at least allow people to shootaround.

This isn't even the Jordan Rec that we wanted back lol. Majority of the community wanted the JRC from 2k15 back not Walk On from 2k16. People are tired of getting matched up with horrible randoms when going into the game mode solo. Blame 2k on this one...not the community lol.

Keith, I personally don't mind waiting for 10 people. I think that will get better when the game comes out. Agree with everything else though. What is the point of having the other games in action?

Managed to play one game so far.

I agree waiting for 5 is a bit much but that will change a lot I'm guessing once we start getting the influx of regular edition buyers.

But I don't miss shootaround at all. For one thing, I hated that you were stuck in myplayer cam for shootaround instead of 2K cam. Meant that I couldn't really practice anything the way I would in a game. On top of that, loading the shootaround took a lot of time, and I think they are focusing on getting your 5 players together and launching the game as fast as possible. It's much faster than in 2K18 to get into a game. And I'll take that over a shootaround anytime.

My first game was a mess but not because of Rec Center. My team had 5 humans, the other team had 3 AIs (I guess people dropped in loading?). My team got hosed as all but one guy on my team was an idiot. The 'stretch' PF went 0-7 before quitting, the PG went 1-7 with like 5 turnovers before quitting. It's clear that the AI (and general) defense is much better than last year. Not being able to just step back or drive through your defender is going to frustrate a lot of players, which is a good thing!

That was dumb too. Usually people would just invite their players to the court so it never had that "pickup" feel to it. I remember that mode taking a long time to get a game too.
