Re: Point in the paint remedy
Same. There's a terrible delay on the contest animations in my opinion, so defense is never fully effective. Also at times when defending the post the defender just slides away like he is playing on ice. Either I get the block or I get scored on. I'm starting ti doubt my skills after 8 years of playing 2k lol.Comment

Re: Point in the paint remedy
Lol well depending on what difficulty you're playing on, the CPU can certainly cheese the hell out of you inside. And if they go to the post and start putting on the dance moves they'll even slide you out of the way sometimes. Can be pretty annoying, but the best you can do is put a good defender on the player and hope he doesn't get by you or right up under the basket. Either that or adjust the sliders. And for the help D, you can go into your defensive settings in the menu and set the player you want help with to help & no rotation on drive.Last edited by WarMMA; 09-14-2018, 09:02 PM.Comment

Re: Point in the paint remedy
Whats even more annoying is they took out the automatic shot contest option in controller settings
Where you could put it to manual and manually contest inside instead of auto contesting which also leaves your defenders out of position for defensive rebounds most of the time..they just took it out i guess for no reason ?!?!?!Comment

Re: Point in the paint remedy
Not even...even worse to have JJ reddick going inside and score some weak put up basket on your big defender just cuz he's under the rim.Comment

Allstar difficult...it's frustrating, i played against thunders and they killed me with the same action every time, direct pass right in the paint to the bigs in the first 6/7 seconds of the play, with my man standing on the top of the key doing nothing. I tried everything, shrink the floor, leave him alone on no shooters to get help, soft hedge, no edge, going under the screen...nothing works. After years playing nba 2k I can say now I'm a decent defender, but I have always that strange sensation about this game that kills my enthusiasm : maaaaany times good defense is not rewarded.Comment

Re: Point in the paint remedy
This time the exact opposite. Every year I have to re-learn how to defend...I'm Toronto, allstar, no threes POE, deny+smother on Lillard and McCollum...tell me if their 3pt% is normal... 🤬Comment

Re: Point in the paint remedy
as with every year, 3pt% is too high, players with around 75 3pt shoot like curry when wide open, imagine elite shooters like mccollum

Re: Point in the paint remedy
Yh when I play the CPU I play on All-Star too. It can definitely be fraustrating at times how the CPU can "cheese" you. They definitely shoot over 50% and in the paint they hit a ton even on good D...god help you if Adams is in the paint cuz if they miss, either he gets the rebound put back or tip in. Yet when I use the Thunder dudes shutting Adams down left and right in the paint lol. But really what it seems to be is they inflate shooting % with the CPU a bit too much on all-star in an attempt to make it kinda challenging, but its not realistic when all these teams even with average shooters are shooting over 50%. Just gotta lower the sliders yourself to find a better balance. As far as defensive settings, play tight, go over screen and soft hedge for shooters. Play moderate, go under and catch hedge for non shooters. Those seem to work best for me currently.Allstar difficult...it's frustrating, i played against thunders and they killed me with the same action every time, direct pass right in the paint to the bigs in the first 6/7 seconds of the play, with my man standing on the top of the key doing nothing. What is yor setting on Defensive Assist with Intense D? For years, I've always set to 0 to avoid input delay on my controls.Same. Re: Point in the paint remedy
oh my goodness ... 14 for 18 vs 7 for 23?! That was post patch? AS?
I havent played the Blazers yet. I cant imagine playing them at HOF. I just got burned playing the wolves. Their defense was suffocating, and I couldnt stop Jimmy Butler. His post fadeaway created a huge separation, totally unguardable. I may try the pull the chair method the next time guarding a post player.

Re: Point in the paint remedy
Dude this. If you think Butler's in unguardable you should see Lebron's, who's post fade is rated in the 90's. I've locked him up with PG and still couldn't stop his post fade. You just have to pray it doesn't fall.oh my goodness ... 14 for 18 vs 7 for 23?! That was post patch? AS?
