Waited this long for this. And of course players are missing.I use Carolina and Jake Bean is gone!Added prospects with no portrait.Any roster maker could have done better. And still can't add legends.

They'll be back once the AHL plays. So either next update or the one after. It's a known licensing issue they have every year.

Happy they've done a big CHL update earlier in the year. Now we just need to wait for the AHL process. AHL/PHPA really need to try and streamline this one of these days.

Yeah, that's always the downside of the first roster update. Gain the NHL debuts & updated CHL, but lose the majority of guys transitioning from junior to the AHL. Which can be some pretty important prospects since they can't put them in until they have the signed PHPA waiver.

Usually the majority of them are back in a November update, but that seems far off if you're looking to start a franchise. I often wonder if it's better to start one before this update, as I assume you miss out on fewer prospects in total.

Wish they'd give us the option to 1) share rosters, but at the very least, 2) import/export players like you can with MLB The Show. I'll await the next one. No rush on my end. We do this drill every year.

They're still missing 2017 AHL rookies like Jeremy Bracco, Jonne Tammela and Jeremiah Addison, who weren't even in last year's game!

I know for Buffalo/Rochester they're missing Will Borgen, Andrew Oglevie and Brandon Hickey, three important prospects. They're also missing Sabres prospect Matej Pekar who plays for Barrie, and three of our defenseman in the SHL and Liiga.

Frederic, Kuhlman, Hughes, Sherman, Gilbert, Dickinson, O'Connor, Shvyryov, Point, Calderone, L'Esperance, Pope, Marody, Vesey, Vesel, Kiselevich, Rempal, Eyssimont, Evans, Anderson, Yakovlev, Johnson, Sharangovich, Seney, Lindgren, Sturtz, Angello, Lafferty, Birks, Praplan, Letunov, Radil, Foley, Stevens, Poganski, Colton, Shumakov, Samsonov, Pinho, Suess, Cajkovsky...those are just important prospects they're missing from the NCAA or a couple from Russia, not including the CHL prospects they just took out.

So let's say they're missing like 75-100 important prospects that belong in GM mode...they had all summer to get these waivers signed, they know for the most part who will be in the AHL.

It's not on EA. It's the PHPA waiver, which can't happen until players actually end up in the AHL. Has nothing to do with the video game.

I'll check the Blues tonight.. but I'll probably start. Don't really want to wait another month as I play all my games anyway and only get about 2-4 full seasons in... which isn't really enough to get many of the prospects up into the NHL.

And it takes two to tango... While many players are gamers these days, I doubt this is a priority for them, the teams, union rep, etc. Same goes for face scans; sure teams pass through Vancouver, but squeezing in a trip to EA studios in a day or two likely just isn't possible.

"Sorry coach... Can't make the morning skate and video meeting. Going to get my face scanned so it will be in a videogame!"

I get what your saying, but I always run with my favorite NHL team which is the Red Wings. It sucks because they are in rebuild mode so the fact that this roster update is missing our top prospect Filip Zadina, that's huge. With the AHL season now underway hopefully they can get these missing prospects in the game

I see what you're saying as well.. now I might just have to wait.

What I don't understand is their first game was on 10/5 so I'm not sure why Zadina isn't in the game with this last roster update?

Edit: per EA, AHL players have to sign a waiver in order to be put into the game (it's crazy this has to happen every single year)

Yea I'm definitely going to have to wait, there are some big name prospects missing because they are making the move from the juniors to the AHL this year. Another big one I noticed is Jake Bean from Carolina.

It is so bizarre that Zadina is missing now. He is actually in the original September release day roster with Grand Rapids.....
I was just having a look at the latest roster now, it’s like he’s deleted from the game.

It doesn’t affect me because I started my dynasty about 3 days after release & I have him.
But what does affect me is how badly EA rated rookies like Cholowski, Hronek & Sulak on the original release. I’m into my 2nd season and they are still 4 rating points below what this new roster has them set at.

It might be worth having a look at past rosters and picking an earlier one. This one seems full of holes. The list of rookies added just doesn’t cut it for me to start over.

While I understand the license issue EA faces there are still usually missing players, innacurate ratings, and the overall delay due to license issues means you don’t start your franchise or season until late November early December....absurd. They acknowledge the communities wish for a roster share for over 2 years but never give us one nor any explanation as to why not. It leaves me to believe they simply do not care about us offline gamers who are serious about our franchise or seasons. I bet if they could charge us to share rosters it would be in the game.
