    Space The Floor

Taking away space the floor has now made it were random motion option occurs all the time unless you call an isolation.

Due to all the movement it allows the defense to play off ball, bring doubles and just play the passing game and rely on a bad pass turnover.

The offense gets really sporadic because the user is pulse both from on ball to off ball causing the offensive movement to be taz mania out there.

Is it away for space the floor to make its way back into the game allowing me to run a slow pace offense with no movement to combat this?

Completely agree. I think it has slightly improved after Patch 4 but it's still not there.

Love how much the motion has evolved, but we need that Space The Floor option back...Even the spacing on iso's can be funky...with players bringing defenders in driving lanes.

If Rudy Gay randomly cuts to the paint when I'm trying to kick it to him for a 3 ONE more time, lol

Exactly, the motion is too much. That’s why I say too much realism can sometimes hinder gameplay. While motion is good, if you can’t implement it where I can run a more patient none motion offense then it’s no good.

the problem is that iso plays end too early. once the iso player gets the ball, you're given like three seconds to do your thing, and then your teammates start scrambling all over the place. it's ridiculous.

          Re: Space The Floor

Space the floor is an absolutely essential setting that needs to be available in online play, because most users tend to run around pulling defenders out of position so chaotically, that you need to have your offensive CPU teammates staying put and standing still in order for them to remain open after bad user defense has gotten them open.

I've lost count of how many times this year I've turned the ball over in an online match because I tried to pass the ball out to a wide open AI three point shooter who started cutting INTO a defender a split second before I pressed the pass button.

There is no justifiable reason why Peja Stojaković and Jerry West should be cutting into the paint or running around the three point line when they are already standing in a wide open spot from three.

The off-ball cutting from capable three point shooters also needs to stop happening whenever a post-up player is being double teamed. I'm tried of seeing Peja and Jerry RUN AWAY from wide open three point shots just because their man went down to double team a post player.

This right here, they abuse the AI because they know once they switch off of them the AI will put the defensive player right back into position. Also In doing this, it confuses the offensive AI players as well causing them to go sporadic because how the defense moves is also tied into how the offensive player moves as well.

With no space the floor option, and OP on ball defence - this game has become unplayable for me.

It was removed on purpose. He talked about it not being in 2k19 very early on in development. I think to add it back now would break the game unless it was added as a series. I too would like to be able to space the floor in the final mins of each quarter without having to call a play or call an iso

Warriors freelance and 4 out one is the closest ones to space the floor. And I thought they said if needed be they can add space the floor option back. I hope they do as well..

                      Re: Space The Floor

I call plays 80% of the time, but when a play breaks down and it's 8 seconds on the shot clock left - the only thing I can do is call for a pick and roll.

It's impossible to play a manual pick and roll in this game. Spacing is terrible. As soon as I call for a pick - my CPU teammate runs towards me (and of course drags his defender with him) and ruins the spacing.

@DaCzar - simnation my *a*s*s*. How can you remove "space the floor" from the game and call this SIM is beyond me....

lol, cant get elementary aspects of basketball into a basketball game they've been making for 20 years, haha... I mean, i know your laughing, but that pisses me off, after thinking of how long they've been doing these games? and some of the other stuff they put time and effort into? to see stuff like that? it may be better to just laugh about it but, i cant seem to after thinking the way i do.

                          Re: Space The Floor

Here's video evidence to back up some of the stuff I was talking about earlier in this thread:

                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/E048nbnbEF0" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I had 11 half-court offensive possessions in this footage, using the Flow freelance in all of them. Only 1 possession had CPU-controlled motion that led to an open shot. Whereas 3 possessions had CPU-controlled motion that took away an open shot.

2:50 -- Towns' post up opportunity is ruined by CPU Russell needlessly cutting to the basket. CPU Russell's open kick out three pointer then becomes contested because CPU Peja runs over into Russell's space.

3:55 -- CPU Towns would have had an open mid-range jumper if he just stayed put in his original position, but he needlessly cuts to the basket when Giannis shows help on Porzingis' post up.

5:50 -- Again CPU Towns ruins another one of Porzingis' post up opportunities by running around like a decapitated chicken instead of staying put for an open mid range jumper.

6:35 -- This is the only half-court offensive possession in this match where the CPU-controlled motion actually generated an open shot, as AI Korver's wrap behind Curry led to an open three.

My point is, that while motion offenses are great to run against the CPU in an offline match, the easiest and most efficient way to play offense in online matches is to have your AI teammates stand still in predetermined spots, and just let bad user-controlled defense get your players open; motion offenses aren't needed online, and they usually just make it harder, not easier, to score.

So if anyone from 2K is reading this thread, please bring back the space the floor option for online play.

Really no reason a basketball game in 2018 should not have a space the floor option.

The spacing is laughably bad in this game.
