ASUBoy's M19 PS4 Fictional Draft Class

A couple years ago I tried my hand at making a draft class for NBA 2k but real life got in the way and I couldn't commit to finishing. I've got the itch this year thanks to Madden implementing shareable draft classes.

This year while going through the threads here looking for good PS4 classes, I noticed that we don't have a very large pool to download compared to Xbox - at least, that's how I feel. This ultimately solidified my desire to create at least one for the community.

It won't be particularly fast but I plan to have it finished in a few weeks. Luckily I've already been working on it and have the QB's finished and ready to post scouting reports on so you have something to read through and get you excited for these prospects. And yes, this will be a realistic (well, realistic to me) draft class. There will be some (think like 1-4 tops) guys rated in the 80's as there are a few players every year that step in and typically make an immediate professional level impact. There will be a few steals and there will be busts, you don't have to believe the scouting reports they could be wrong!

My plan is to have in reports on the top 12-15 impact players of each position - so it's a lot of write-up, guys.

Once the draft class is finished I'll update this first post with my PSN.

Year-End QB Scouting Reports

1st Round Prospects

Brandon Jones, Penn State
Age: 21
6’3” 228 lbs

Brandon Jones led the Nittany Lions on a magical run this season that ultimately ended in defeat at the hands of Auburn. Jones was a three-year starter at PSU and one of the most exciting players in college football. As one of the more cerebral players in this draft, Jones was adept at analyzing and utilizing misdirection to his advantage. Occasionally, Jones abandons the pocket quickly but he makes up for it by being extremely difficult to catch behind the line and makes them pay with superb throws on the move. The main critics for Jones site that his completion percentage and low turnover rate are buoyed by Penn State’s new spread style offense.

Pros:
• Play IQ
• Arm strength
• Mobility in open space and behind the line of scrimmage

Cons:
• Skittish in pocket
• Deep ball placement
• Doesn’t take chances

Clay Davis Sr, Michigan State
Age: 23
6’4” 230 lbs

The main rival to Jones the past few seasons was Clay Davis, Sr. The two put on some impressive firework displays in their matchups that usually decided the Big Ten champ. Where Jones is an athlete, Davis is a statue. He makes up for that by having a cannon with pinpoint precision attached to his arm. Davis is also a wizard on play action as demonstrated by his 4 TD game vs Michigan last season where he got fellow top prospect, Robert Lester, to bite consistently. The big knock against Davis? Yep, you guessed it; his fumbling problem. It looks like Davis is too confident in his arm and often sits in the pocket until someone is open or he gets blindsided knocking the ball loose.

Pros:
• Elite arm strength
• Ball placement to the whole field
• Excellent at throwing with a man in his face

Cons:
• Pocket awareness
• Puts the ball on the ground frequently
• Poor athleticism

2nd Round Prospects

Jorge Ramirez, Utah
Age: 22
6’1” 207 lbs

Ramirez was thrust into the starting job during the Las Vegas Bowl when the incumbent starter abruptly quit the team after the end of conference play. Fast forward two years and Utah couldn’t be happier with how that played out. Ramirez has been consistently underrated due to his size but nobody plays as big as this guy. He’s slippery in the pocket and lethal on the move, and even if you get in his face he can hang in the pocket and deliver a strike – this guy took a beating at Utah doing just this. Pundits are still going to worry about his size and frame but smart GM’s shouldn’t be concerned by that and instead focus on why Utah didn’t unleash this kid enough.

Pros:
• Athleticism
• Can hang tough in pocket or escape for a big play
• Arm strength

Cons:
• Size/frame
• Surprising lack of production
• Accuracy concerns

Brenton Richard, West Virginia
Age: 23
6’3” 231 lbs

Spoiler

There’s not any other QB in this draft that throws the deep ball like Richard. Poems should be written about the rainbows and lasers this kid uncorks. He’s even able to do this when being blitzed, but he’s quick to the trigger and more willing to throw into double-coverage than eating a sack. A pure pocket passer but fairly mobile, Richard provides an intriguing profile for an NFL QB. Questions still remain about his inconsistency on non-deep throws but he’s too good to fall past day two of the draft.

Pros:
• Arm strength
• Deep ball accuracy
• Can throw darts while taking a hit

Cons:
• Short/intermediate passing game
• Unwilling to take sacks or throw ball away
• One-year starter

3rd Round Prospects

Warren Miller, Florida State
Age: 22
6’1” 218 lbs

Everyone knows of the “It’s Miller Time” memes that blew up after Miller was caught on camera shot-gunning a beer at an FSU tailgate a few hours before game time (the one where he looked sluggish and broke his collar bone). Despite that bone-headed decision, Miller was an excellent QB when he was on the field. Some claim the offensive line is what lead to his injury issues but the true reason is that Miller hangs onto the ball too long and is utterly unaware of free rushers. Add into that his desire to never throw a pick, and you’ve got a guy that took a beating because of his own issues. Still, Miller has a lot of good qualities like solid ball placement and an ability to make nice throws on rollouts. His arm strength won’t jump out on tape but it’s passable for the NFL level. Just got to work on the maturity with this kid.

Pros:
• Accuracy to the whole field
• Ability to make throws on the move

Cons:
• Injury history
• Completely oblivious to the rush
• Poor shot-gunning form

Will Parks, Nebraska
Age: 27
6’6” 227 lbs

Spoiler

Will Parks was drafted out of high school to play professional baseball by the Minnesota Twins. After spending seven years in minor league ball, Parks walked on to Nebraska’s program and was immediately named the starting QB. Most people are getting wearier of these former ballplayer’s turned QB, but Parks looked very polished as a Cornhusker. He’s got the second-best arm to Davis in this draft and he looks like a pro versus the rush by knowing when to take a sack, when to throw it away, and when to hang in and make a tough throw. Parks isn’t going to win any foot races, but he’s surprisingly quick for a man of his size.

Pros:
• Elite arm strength
• Knows how to handle pressure like a 10-year vet

Cons:
• Deep ball placement
• Needs to add weight to frame

4th Round Prospects

Jordan Sutherland, Fordham
Age: 23
6’2” 234 lbs

Spoiler

This year’s small-school-flier is Sutherland. He was a one-man wrecking ball at Fordham – mostly because he plays like a wrecking ball. Known for his ability to make plays by running through defenders, Sutherland’s passing leaves a lot to be desired. The arm strength is there and the accuracy isn’t bad, but that’s pretty much it, he’s just not bad.

Pros:
• Good runner and a load to bring down
• Solid passer

Cons:
• Will the athleticism fair as well against NFL competition?
• Fumbling problems

5th Round Prospects

Daniel David, Arkansas
Age: 21
6’4” 230 lbs

Spoiler

As a redshirt sophomore, David was the best QB in the SEC this year. Good arm strength combined with solid accuracy to each level of the field made the Razorback a nightmare for opposing defenses. David doesn’t unnecessarily force passes, but he tends to forget about the blindside rush. He probably should have stayed in school as he was slated to be a top QB with another year of development.

Pros:
• Arm strength
• Accuracy to whole field

Cons:
• Needs to learn to feel pressure
• Should have went back to school

Reed Henson, Georgia
Age: 23
6’2” 222 lbs

Spoiler

Reed Henson is a prime example of a guy who just goes out and does his job. He doesn’t do anything that wows you, but he does a lot of things well. The arm strength could be better but he’s a good decision maker that can hit a receiver in stride with consistency. He’s not a great athlete and that’s reflected in his poor ability to throw on the move.

Pros:
• Well-rounded passer
• Passable arm strength

Cons:
• Probably a career backup, but a quality backup
• Throwing on the move

7th Round Prospects

Lyndell Ferguson, Lafayette
Age: 22
6’ 197 lbs

You’ve all seen Ferguson’s highlight reels. You’ve all heard about the comparisons to Vick. And everyone has seen the interview that Ferguson walked out of when asked if he would switch to RB for the NFL. Ferguson firmly believes he’s an NFL-level QB, the jury is out on that but he’s certainly going to end up on a roster come August. He’s a super athlete and relies on it to make a ton of plays. He’s insanely tough for a kid of his size. The real aspect of Ferguson’s game that is overlooked; his arm strength. Wow. When he reaches back he can throw a long way, or he can break his receiver’s fingers on short passes a la Favre. If only he could put a tighter spiral on his throws.

Pros:
• Super athlete
• Underrated Arm Strength

Cons:
• Is he a QB?
• Might rely on his legs too much

Mylan Hayward, Mississippi State
Age: 23
6’3” 228 lbs

Spoiler

Hayward is almost the opposite of Henson. He’s not exceptional at any one thing, he doesn’t really have a marketable skill outside of his play IQ. His biggest knock is that he passes the ball away at the first sense of pressure. He’s probably a career backup but that’s not necessarily bad at the end of the draft.

Pros:
• Accuracy
• Play IQ

Cons:
• Doesn’t have that signature ability
• Needs to settle down when faced with pressure

Allen McDonald, USF
Age: 22
6’1” 209 lbs

Spoiler

Probably the last draftable QB this year, McDonald has a few marketable skills. He continually made AAC defenses silly with how he sold play action, creating space for his receivers. His accuracy was also good as long as he wasn’t asked to throw deep. Probably another career backup, but again that’s not bad for the end of the draft.

Pros:
• Play action ability is very good
• Accuracy on short/intermediate throws

Cons:
• Size
• Lacks toughness

You is right... PS4 doesn’t have a lot of custom class like XBOX but I hope you can change that it make it great

Looks nice so far. We have had very little for PS4, and the one that looked promising (Fictional Draft Universe) looks like it has died after just one draft class.

There are dozens of real college rosters out there. I am sick of seeing those lol. I was hoping for a ton more fictional rosters than what we have received.
