Couldn't Block dunks in 2k13, why did you like the blocks there better than 2k12?
      ... But hey VC sale!!

Movement: 19 I guess? 16 was ok in the halfcourt but it felt like you were in mud in transition. 17 was just horrible. In 18 the players felt like they're on ice skates.

Inside scoring: 2k16 - I'm not a fan of this layup timing stuff. Can we go back to how it was in 16? They claimed layup timing was gone in 18 but it was clearly just hidden which was weird.

Post: 2k19 - If you have a mismatch you can pretty much dominate and if you have takeover then forget about it. I also love the new stepback animations out of the post now.

Triple Threat: 2K18 was pretty good in this area. Very weird that they took out the turbo modifier in 2K19.

Shooting: 2K16 - No automatic green releases and none of that Hall of Fame Badge garbage.

Passing: 2K19 I guess. Passing has been pretty stagnant for a few years now.

Dribbling: 2K17/2K16 The dribbling has been pretty unresponsive since 18. 16 and 17 were great.

Rebounding: It's been so bad for so long but I really remember the awfulness starting in 2K14 so, I'll go with 2K13.

On-ball steals: 2K16 - Actual tangibility of the ball and none of these forced steal animations.

Off-ball steals: 2K19 - First year in a long time where bad passes get picked off.

On-ball defense: 2K16 easily. GOAT on-ball defense. Last time I legitimately had fun putting the clamps on players.
          B
locks: 2K19 I guess. Blocking has been pretty good since 16 aside from those lame pump fake blocks.

17 was the worst playing game on the court. 18 and 19 was the worst for the forcible VC. I thought the offline gameplay was actually excellent for 18 and 19.
Agree with you on 16 being the best this gen overall.

NBA 2k13 had the best presentation and NBA 2k12 a close second.
Overall polish, game modes, fun factor, goes to NBA 2k11 for me.

NBA 2K16 was the best game on this current gen, easily.

Re: What was 2k's best execution by year?

2k18 had one of the worst movement systems imo. Moments of quicksand + moments of ice skating speed boosts + 2 man animations that last like 15 steps + pauses in dribbling animations in their weak attempt to stop dribble spammers made the movement and dribble system in 2k18 the worst I've ever seen.

Yea when making my list i was thinking about responsiveness and 2k13 stood out to me... but with that factored in id give the nod to last gen 2k14

i honestly never noticed it. I wonder if it was isolated to ps3. I remember DOM making a video discussing it, but to this day I play this with my friends and never really noticed as a problem, i'm on 360 though. every game someone will abuse an exploit and utilize it, but I never played that way, cheesing to win. Every game in 2k has an exploit. I heard the ally oop to your self might be unblockable in 2k19. I'd rather not know. I'd rather just play the game it was meant to played.

                            See the red. No.
in 2k19 maybe you can say not being able to continuously throw passes thru people's bodies. it happens too often still but not nearly as bad as it once was.
