Does SUPERSAMPLING on PS4 Pro & TV 1080p decreases FPS in EA UFC 3?

We are using 1080p TV.

Frame rate is very important in any fighting games, but especially in EA UFC 3, where you need to read initial opponent's movements to determine yours.

Set Game options in Visual to "Prefer Performance" instead of resolution.

Set PS4 Pro Boost mode ON (sure does not affect as UFC 3 was launched later PS4 Pro and so is officially supported by PS4 Pro)

In PS4 Pro Sound and Screen settings set Supersampling ON (enable) from Off > Restart your PS4 Pro for changes takes effect.

Do you feel Frame rates FPS decreases from active Supersampling mode in the game?

I believe in the description given for supersampling it says it may reduce frame rate. So it most likely does reduce it.

it may, but not must.

The ONLY TRUE way to determine this is to use capture card and PC - those who are making videos i hope could helps us (FPS is important thing and it can help to reveal the BEST settings for the game):

All of this ONLY applies to 1080p TV's.

Supersampling ON doesn't lower the FPS of "Favor performance" mode, however the "favor resolution" is locked at 30FPS.


If you have supersampling OFF the game just locks to the 1080p/60FPS mode.

If you have Supersampling ON you can choose between 1080p/60fps or 4K/30fps.

Supersampling mode just tricks your PS4 into thinking your TV is 4K. It's really only good for games that have PSPro support and 2 resolution modes but don't allow the user to change them in the game, in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure with Supersampling ON UFC 3 runs 4K in the menus on 1080p screens, which may affect performance but hasn't in my experience.

Supersampling On on my 1080p TV and PS4 Pro IS CREATING 4K picture then downscaling it into 1080p but KEEPING it 4K at the same time.

So 4K signal i think reduces FPS.

I.e. SS = 4K picture but you simply dont see this (through your 1080p tv).

I know what Supersampling is.

But that's not what it's doing if you have UFC 3 set to favor performance, the resolution is capped at 1080p even with Supersampling on.

You can't have 60FPS and 4K at the same time, it's one or the other.

Again. With SS ON. You can choose between 1080/60 "favor performance" and 4K/30 "favor resolution"
