    Pro Clubs AI defending

My friends and I got our pro club up to Division 4, but over the past 2+ weeks, other teams are just taking the ball wide, crossing it in, and the AI defenders just stand there and let them score. We've lost so many games by this method that we've been relegated down to Division 6.

We've tried ultra defensive, defensive, balanced, team press (in hopes it would make AI more aggressive), overload ball side. Nothing works.

I've tried (as Captain) double teaming, pressing the standing tackle button to force the AI defender to head the ball away/clear it out, or just pressing nothing and letting the AI play naturally. Again, nothing works.

I am wondering if others are experiencing this and if they have found a solution?

P.S. Please don't suggest play with Any, because none of us want to play as an Any.

    Good post

Clubs is the only read mode I play right now and sometimes the AI is hit or miss. We had good AI defenders a few days this week but last night we got dealt the terrible AI. The one that just lets runners through, doesn’t react to a ball in their zone, or plays us into trouble. We even lost a game where the keeper got in position to catch a cross but literally didn’t put their arms up to catch it and the opponent just headed it in.

We don’t play with an any too because sometimes it’ fun to stick to a position since it feels like just playing a real game (sort of).

Actually the AI defense isnt that bad i wonder what difficulty it is ..the keepers saved us a lotttttt of times . I wonder if as your team progresses and gainining the stars max 5 ..does your team CPU AI get higher ratings or doe they always remain in the mid 70s?

They’re always in the mid 70s which puts you at a huge disadvantage as you move up divisions. High 80s attackers going up against mid 70s attackers. Basically Premier League Top 4 side strikers against Championship defenders.

I agree but ive seen plenty of games where the cpu defenders hold their own defensively against 90 rated users, the problem i have isn't the defense but their passing ability and awareness..the defense is good to be honest but all the other things a defender should do on the field is badly programmed.

            Yesssss!

They’ll make a great tackle or step up and close off a passing lane and then inexplicably turn right into the user giving the ball back. Since so many pro clubs attacks come via chopper through balls it’s especially nerve wracking when they win the ball and turn into the opposing AI losing the ball and creating a 1v1 with your keeper.

As you move up in divisions and human players subsequently increase their overalls, the AI players need to increase their overall to bridge the gap ratings wise. My ST is an 88 OVR and nose CBS I’ve seen on my team are between 76 and 78 OVR. That’s basically a top sides ST going against a mid-to-bottom level CB. IMO your AI teammates should be an average of your human players.
