Do You Find High-Level Matches "Fun"?

you know when you come across an opponent who's skill is either evenly matched or slightly better than yours? do you find those types of matches fun? honestly, for me, I mostly just find them stressful. I just had a grueling 5-round fight which was as even as it gets. pretty much every body part between us was blinking red by the end of it (body, head, legs..) but I finally managed to get the KO. it was satisfying to win but I hate matches like that. as lame as it sounds I prefer fighting opponents who I'm confident I'm better than.

I have a few on my channel.

It's really dependent on how round one goes. I either KO him in Round 3-5, or he gets me early.

We're good friends and familiar with what one does versus the other, so it makes it even more competitive.

Depends if it’s “high-level” shifted towards realism, or “high-level” let me throw 150 strikes and walk you down the whole fight. If it’s the former, I love it.

Depends on if the player is using gamey stuff (like using exploits or spamming) or playing realistic with the fighter. The latter is always fun imo.

I like high level matches but I am only high level in the striking department, no monitor or new console.

Depends on the person. If I fight someone like Romero or Advaita I usually have a good time because I have to be extra careful and gameplan around their styles.


But then if I match up against a guy who's completely mastered the meta and throws 5 piece combinations, jab feint body cross shots, and every takedown in the book, I usually get my *** beat bad and don't have a good time.

Also, pretty much anyone who uses Jacare, who I think is the biggest cheese at MW.

Yeah, but I hate how huge the skill difference is between the actual good players and the majority of the playerbase is. I get so used to just shredding players that are average that when it comes time to fight a good player it can be a rude awakening.

You have to fight the good players super carefully, so it's definitely more fun. It seriously comes down to the timing a lot.

All of those players have been consistently in the Top 10-20 on PS4. Papadoc #1 twice in two seasons, Barth in the top 20 with his alts, Swiss in the top 10, Dominator Top 10, etc etc.

Hardest fights are always the most fun.

I'll always try to rematch opponents on quick match if they were good. It gives me better practice.

Everyone has certain crutches they lean on in this game. When you're matched vs an opponent who knows them all, you're gonna learn something new.
