    I would appreciate some advice...

I know, considering the hype right now about the new release, that my question is EXTREMELY out of style but...I need some help so I'm going to ask anyways.

I was dumb enough to get an Xbox One as opposed to a PS4 several years ago and now when it comes to baseball, I'm screwed. Super Mega Baseball 2 is fun but lets be serious, it's not anywhere close to a sim game...at all. RBI Baseball 19 is pure trash.

So...I'm not, even though I seriously considered it, going to go buy a PS4 just for one game. That's silly.

So I'm left with 2 options.

    1. Get an old PS3 and one of the version of The Show for that system. Roster accuracy isn't crucial for me.

But ive done my research and I need help determining which PS3 version of The Show was best in terms of performance when it comes to stuttering and freezing issues.

I've read up on all of them and it seems that complaint is somewhat common. Are people just exaggerating? Whenever I watched gameplay videos, I witnessed practically none of these frame rate issues.

Or option 2, I could get an old 360 and play MLB 2k12 or 2k13 which are incredibly underrated games especially with the amazing presentation they offered. I really enjoyed them.

Any help or advice would be so damn appreciated!!! Seriously. 😀

I want to say the show 14 was the last on the PS3. It was the last version of the show I played all 162 without simulating. You can't go wrong with that. I also do not remember any issues with it.

You might be able to find a used PS4 on Craigslist in your area for a reasonable price, just a thought. That's how I sold mine when I got my new PS4 Pro.

Another thought GameStop has refurbished PS4's for not too much $$ so might give them a look as well. Wouldn't hurt to check out. Better than Xbone for baseball

I was in the exact same boat. Played MLB 2K for a few years. I eventually caved and bought a PS4, a few years ago. I own 3 games for it: MLB The Show 17, MLB The Show 18, MLB The Show 19. My suggestion is to bite the bullet and buy it. I play my xbox one year round and The Show from release through 1 full season with my current year Red Sox, and then as much as I can handle after simming 5-7 years and playing a season. You won't regret it. The Show on PS4 is just so much better than any other baseball game on any platform.

Are you playing enough Xbox exclusive titles that trading in or selling the One is not an option.

The sole reason I am on Playstation from way back in the day is The Show but I have stuck with it because the exclusives are more in line with what I play than the Xbox. I am not bashing it, just saying there are a lot of great games on the PS4 so it might be worth examining the option?

I bought a PS3 years ago simply to play MLB The Show, and have since bought a PS4 and then a PS4 Pro. I agree with the previous poster...you won't regret it.

If you can afford it, go big or go home. You will regret not getting the PS4 over the PS3. You will open yourself up to some amazing games.

But like I said, only if it's within your budget.

I bought my PS4 Pro strictly for MLB The Show and Red Dead Redemption 2 and don't regret it one bit. All my other games are on PC. The way I look at it is that compared to the prices of top of the line PC hardware, the price of a PS4 really isn't a lot of money and is actually a good value for what you get. I just wanted to point out that people do actually buy consoles for one game or two. I could go to the bar a few times and waste enough money to buy a console.

If you get a PS3 then get MLB 14

As a primarily XB1 gamer (like 99%) and a huge HUGE fan of MLB 2K13, I say get a PS4 and MLB The Show. There are some gameplay aspects I miss from 2K baseball, but these games play fantastic. I just got a slim, which means it's not 4K, but still gets HDR.

I haven't regretted getting the PS4, as HZD and Spiderman are pretty fantastic. Although my daughter playing Persona 5 24/7 when home from collage might be a drawback.

I bought my PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4. It was shortly after I got it I found The Show 08 on sale and decided I'd give it a try. This was after owning and liking MLB 2K8 on the Xbox 360. It wasn't long before 2K8 was out and the Show was dominating my playing time.

Since I've purchased the PS4 and will be keeping Playstation as long as The Show is around.

Listen man, I don't know your financial situation but I'm going to be totally honest.

MLB The Show is definitely worth you selling your XBox and coming over to our platform. Although, The Show isn't perfect it is the greatest sports game to ever come out -- and I say that with FULL CONFIDENCE.

This game alone is worth it for the system. I'd say do it.

This is pretty similar to what I ran into last year, I had a 360 with MLB 2K12? and it just wasnt the same. I came from PS2 with The Show and found myself playing a ton of MLB 07 instead.

I used some tax money to buy a PS4, I only have about 3 games for it but The Show alone is worth the price

                              EXACTLY my story....

I have not missed owning an XBox (360 or One) since.
Once I discovered The Show, I never went back.

Like someone else said, what XBox exclusives, if any, do you play that make it so you cannot trade-in your XBox for a PS4? The fact you are willing to play baseball on PS3 lets me know you aren't going to nitpick about small graphical differences between the two consoles and the games that are out for both are nearly identical regardless of what people say....again at least to someone who is not SUPER picky.

IMO there are not any XBox exclusives worth missing The Show over.
I do not think there ever will be.
