No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
40 man MLB rosters. The only subs in a 9 inning spring game were pitchers. Not 1 other player came out for a subTags: None -
Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
What! This can't be possible.....you mean the AI aren't subbing guys out in the 7th or on?

Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
No. The entire starting team remains in. They had this problem a few years back. Took a patch to fix it. Hopefully it does. Pitchers throw the right number of innings but the entire srarting lineup stays in despite having 40 active players on rosterComment

Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
Yeah its frustrating.
Hoping they can fix it soon, but if not, I guess I'll do like I do the All-Star games and make the subs myself. Hate doing that, but it bugs me that starters play all 9 innings of a ST game, every game.
Only good news is that it doesn't appear to be an issue with simmed games, as the box scores look better.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
It's a double edged sword for me. While it does take away some of the realism of spring training, it also helps facing teams' best lineups all the way through before I start my franchise. It can be somewhat tough to really find that gameplay groove when you have new pitchers and hitters entering every inning.
But deff can see why this would bother some people.Comment

Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
Can you just pause the game. Swoth sides and sub guys in?. Amd then switch back to your team?. Ill do this also. Didnt know you could do that once game startedYeah its frustrating.

Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
I will email SDS as well when I get home.
It seems to me, just my opinion I have no actual info, that this might be something that was done intentionally in development and was never turned back on. Just saying I have seen things like this before. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
Speaking of Spring Training games, who else would like to see it the way it is in real life where the game ends in a tie if both teams are still tied at the end of 9 innings? Neither team gets a win or loss, but the stats still stand. I like this better than having a Spring Training game go 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15... innings.Comment

Re: No defensive subs in Spring Training Games
Ignoring the spring training format eats away at the motivation to delve into a franchise. Besides that, injuries are just as possible in ST as the Regular Season so the OPs and in the past I've had players around the league needlessly injured because they were featuring in the entire ball game. Also disappointing since 40 man logic in ST is as long overdue as it already is.Speaking of Spring Training games, who else would like to see it the way it is in real life where the game ends in a tie if both teams are still tied at the end of 9 innings?
