A Golden State Rebuild: MLB The Show 19 San Francisco Giants Franchise

A Golden State Rebuild

Team: San Francisco Giants
Sliders: Armor & Sword - https://forums.operationsports.com/f...n-sliders.html
Rosters: TBA

Background Information:
Hello OS Forums. I have never done a franchise here on this website so bear with me as I work out the kinks. I am a fan of sports video games and have done multiple franchises before. I am glad you are all here for the ride as I try to take the San Francisco Giants back to another championship.

I will be playing one game every series. Once a series wraps up, I will be posting a series recap here on the forums. On top of series recaps, I will include occasional spotlights of prospects down at AA and AAA. That way we can get some insight into players who may become future Giants. At the end of each month, I will also post an update on what is happening around the league. News such as transactions, injuries, playoff races, and call-ups will be included.

Franchise Information:
From 2010-2014, the San Francisco Giants were in the midst of a golden era. Their success in the even years with winning three World Series championships led many to call them the modern-day baseball dynasty.

The year is now 2019. It is different times in San Francisco. The Giants have missed the playoffs the past two years and have only won 137 games in that span. As a result, general manager Bobby Evans was fired after four seasons. With the window for a championship closed, a rebuild may be on the horizon. The only thing stopping a full blown rebuild is the lack of prospects for the future. The San Francisco Giants have the oldest team currently in baseball. Aging veterans on bloated contracts hinders an ability to dive into a complete rebuild. On top of that, the Giants rank last in baseball with their farm system according to Sporting News. The Giants seem to have no MLB ready players who can come in and become the face of the franchise. Aside from a few signings here in there such as switch-pitcher Pat Venditte and starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz, the Giants basically stood pat. With opening day fast approaching, a new general manager has been named. It will now be up to the young Evan Roberts to turn this franchise around and guide them to another golden age.
