    Stadium PA announcer sounds...weird?

I just flipped through the thread from release about this, and I wanted to follow up with a question: does he sound "right" now? To me, he sounds way too clear. Almost like he is part of the broadcast team. I really enjoyed the prior implementation (17 and earlier) where he was in the background and clearly mixed in with the reverberations and echo of being actually heard through stadium speakers. This version just sounds wrong. I played 15, 16, and 17 with the exact same setup I am using today.

Could be me, but I thought I should ask because it is actually a bit of a bummer and takes away from the authenticity I have known and loved for over a decade.

I could be wrong, but the announcer that they had last year, and all the prior years, sounds EXACTLY like the announcer all the way back to NFL Gameday 97

I swear, it was the same guy for almost 30 years. If someone still has old consoles, and a leftover Gmaeday game, listen to the stadium announcer, and then pop in MLBTS18

I'm betting a dime to a dollar, this is the same voice.

PA Announcer changed this year. I noticed when I was playing an Opening Day game. It used to be Mike Carlucci. It's someone else now.

Inside the Show with Allegri is what seems strange to me this last week. Sometimes his voice is deep, sometimes its real high pitched. And its happening within the same sentence. Maybe its my playstation, but I havent noticed any other problems:headscratch:

It's Alex Miniak the Padres new PA announcer.

And to answer the OP's question...to me he sounds just fine in game.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Yep. Mike Carlucci. Has done a million games.

New guy sucks. Not sure what happened to Carlucci.
