    High Level Reads ??

Hello: Friends, Family, Rivals, Training Partners and everything in between.

Yesterday evening the number 1 ranked fighter in the world on the Xbox system uploaded a few clips. These clips appear to show the manifestation of systematically reading his opponent.

First is this possible to be reactive instead of anticipating , Or is it simply lucky guesses ?
Second, should Anderson Silva had been knocked out (2nd link) for such a well placed counter? Or is the damage reasonable.

Thank you I look forward to reading the opinions of my fellow OS’s

I’m not sure ... I have nothing to compare it to. I’ve never not used the Xbox x with this game.

I don’t think the monitor helps with stand up fighting, on the ground yes but not so much standing.

Does it look like it helped ??

All just later and reads, last one especially the guy throws the same combo twice prior. If you can show more go ahead but they don't seem to be reaction claims.

Here's good fight between Advaita and I that I commentated over. A lot of reads are made from both sides.

No HUD for opponent so you know it’s not against complete scrubs(atleast Div5)

I'm definitely not a top ranked player, I would consider myself to be good, but not great. But you can make reads like this for sure. Forward moving headkicks are the easiest strike to slip and counter in EA UFC 3 in my opinion, I've found myself getting a lot of KO's recently countering off of whiffed headkicks.
Another counter I like is the slip straight, the slip straight is more of a anticipation and pattern read, If I notice a player is always trying to close distance throwing jabs and straights I usually let them do it for a while to see if they follow up with anything after, if they don't, I will try to counter with a slip straight followed by a lead hook.

My favorite counter to pull off is minor lunging a side kick to the body and throwing a cartwheel kick right after, it does an insane amount of damage, and will actually get a 1 shot KO quite often.
Anyways if anyone wants to play my PSN ID is MysticJack541, my Xbox GT is KungPaoKitties

                        Re: High Level Reads ??

People have recognizable patterns which is what a read is in fighting.

There are people who respond 1 to 1, which means each shot gets an immediate counter shot, they are easier to gas.

Some people look for a shot quite a lot, or use the same setup to get there.

Some people have pretty clear rhythm to their strikes.

Some have a clear agenda and don't mix up their martial arts well.

MartialMind is notorious for hating the double hook to the body, once you do it on him there is a good chance that if you do it again you are eating an uppercut.

I assume he meant that you can't tell whether those were established patterns that the player took advantage of or just random ducks that worked out.

He’s mocking me saying the same thing to him. He likes to post clips from quick match to show how skilled he is lol

                              Yes, I was being facetious.

I like to post videos of cool ****. Has nothing to do with being "skilled". It literally says in my sig, in every single post I make: "Just an average player"..... lol, like wut??? I have literally never once claimed to be a competetive player at all. I literally don't even play ranked.

You just craft imaginary narratives in your head for some reason.

                              *eye roll* *shrug*

Here's some more cool videos though. Just for my boy Philly.
