Switch hitters you rake with.
In my Jays franchise I’m really hitting well with switch hitters Justin Smoak and Freddy Galvis. I’ve taken Ian Happ for a test drive (just might try and trade for him).

Might only be psychological but I feel real comfortable batting against lefties or righties. I should load up my team with switch hitters

Carlos Santana & Ozzie Albies. Left-handed pitching kills me except when playing with Santana. and Ozzie is just a personal favorite. I think I have a mental block when it comes to lefties, whether batting against them, or throwing with one of them on my staff.

I mash with Smoaky, but am struggling with Galvis.
It's weird, but I find it harder to hit a lefty with a lefty, and much easier to hit a right with a righty. Might just be sample size. |

I've been killing it with Yasmani Grandal. Signed him in my first offseason. He plays well above his mid 50s contact attributes for me while living up to his 80s power.

But hey, baseball is 90% mental and the other half is directional hitting :-) |

This year I’ve been having awesome success with left handed hitters. Smoak and Galvis from the left and Tellez all hitting for average and power. And McKinney as well minus any power. I feel that hitting with switch hitters is just a huge advantage in the game. Without looking at my stats I know for a fact I hit better from the left side but having batters who hit from both sides of the plate feels so comfortable. I love hitting with Marwin Gonzalez. Plus he can play all over the field. Love having him in franchise and doesn't cost much for really solid everyday production.
He's not as valuable as he used to be, but I always had a good time hitting with Robbie Grossman. Some others: Dexter Fowler, Melky Cabrera and super random Tomas Telis. |
