Successfull and Unsuccessful builds you will and will not make in 2k20?

    I mainly play Pro Am.

My Shaq build was 'OK'. 7'1 Slashing Postscorer, max weight. Had HOF RF and Gold Posterizer, but could barely finish at the rim. Never making this C again.

My 1st build will most likely be a 6'11 Slashing Postscorer at PF. If the stats are similar to NBA 2k19 Labs, this build will be a menace on the court. Much, much faster than the center. Better dunking, Can do layups, better midrange, pretty strong, and decent rebounding. And if matched with a stretch 4, they'll be food.

My 2nd build I'd like to make a Sharpshooting Postscorer like I did in 2k18. Sadly in 2k19 the 3 point rating and badges were nerfed, so idk if this will work in 2k20

My 3rd build I want another 2 way Postscorer. This was another build that was nerfed after 2k18. I didn't bother making this because the badges were sub par and the defensive stats sucked.

If 2k lets us choose our attribute cap unlocks then a lot of builds are game.

People sleep on the slashing post scorer PF. Those driving contact dunks that 7’+ guys don’t get make a big difference . Also difficult shots gold vs Silver. He’s my AD build and is ridiculously good at 95 and the vert is insane. I’m running this back .

Some builds I’m thinking about are two sharp ( Klay , Danny Green ish). And a pure shot/playshot PG ( Kyrie like )

made a 6’3 playshot, got him to a 96 overall...might run him back again..it’s a fun build if you know how to use the shot creator type shots

Re: Successfull and Unsuccessful builds you will and will not make in 2k20?

Cant really say I had any unsuccessful builds this year.

I’m definitely making my 6’10 Rebounding Shot Creator SF again, one of the most versatile and rare builds in the game. Can keep up with bigs on the glass and defensively while also still having the iso capabilities of a wing player. Very athletic, great shooting, great post game and all around great build.

Making my 6’10 Max Wingspan Pure Point Forward again. My favorite build by far and DOMINATED in every mode, could speedboost after like 1 or 2 assists and defensively a monster. Not much I can say about that. Just love it.

I’m definitely making a 6’10 220 Playmaking Post Scorer SF that runs PG. It’s a pure cheese build that’s a mismatch no matter what, the rebounding is great and I play the middle of a zone if my boys wanna go for a “small ball” lineup where everyone is like 6’10 and nobody is a center. Great scoring build, surprisingly athletic, and the bruiser kills people. The passing is great and due to the doubles I draw it’s an easy triple double anytime.

Also, thinking bout making my 7’0 220 Pure Athletic PF again. Great defensively, can snag, can shoot with base 107 or 24. Just a fun build

My main build for 2K19 was a shot creating post scorer PF. 6”11, 263lbs. One of the most fun and dominant players I’ve ever had in 2K, especially once I got my post control attribute up and started to hit jumpers consistently. I’ll probably do some variation of that but maybe go smaller, maybe 6”9 on some sort of Julius Randle build.

Before that I’ve always had a 6”8, 250lb slashing point forward in the LeBron mould. It didn’t really work on 2K19 because I couldn’t hit a jumper at all and I abandoned it pretty early, but if online and offline is finally split and we can shape our characters how we want to, this is what I will be going for. A great passer, good finisher at the rim and a respectable jump shot is all I ask for because I only play offline.

Really depends on how the game differs from 2K19 but looking at my 2k19 builds
6'11 Two Way Athletic Finisher- Only if finishing is much better than it was in 2k19.
6'10 Max Wingspan Pure Point Forward- Certainly my best build in 2k19 but i might do as well the tallest height i can go while being able to speedboost all the time with max wingspan, in 2k19 that's 6'6.
7'0 212lbs Pure Rim Protector- if im doing this one again im going 230-245lbs

Also considering doing some kind of shot creator which is the one i build I've never used before.

86 Ball Control right? On Xbox you needed 87 to speedboost all the time.

I loved my 6’11 Center Rebounding Athletic Finisher. I would probably remake him next year. It’s unfortunate it took them over half the year to buff inside scoring or I feel like I could have been even more impactful. It basically was exactly what I envisioned - a mobile Center build that could take advantage of bigger Centers in transition but still defend them around the hoop without getting slaughtered on the boards. It was also a build I could excel at even with brain dead teammates which is important for someone like me who plays mostly Rec alone.

I think I’m done with the Sharpshooting builds. This is my 2nd year trying one and I just don’t have much fun running around the perimeter hoping someone passes to me when I’m open. I’m sure it would be different if I played more with people I knew but playing alone, I find it super dull.

2K is weird af for that lol. I got an 89 6’7 Pure Play with 4 up and I get an 87 BC and the defense is just as good tho.

6`9 or 6`10 SF finishing post scorer.

pretty much depends on how this game will work though.

regretted making that 2way athletic finisher C who could not make an open lay up to safe his life at the start lol

I only did one build last year because I'm more of a MyLeague guy but I did a 6'4 SG named Alain Ingles (to fit the A.I. nickname) that had the archetypes of 3pt specialist/Rebounder. I also really worked on his passing and he ended up being pretty decent. Couldn't defend to save his life but I enjoyed playing as him.

Will definitely do another build this year but I have no idea what yet.

Ive been running a slashing post SF 6’9 last few months.

And i will try to replicate that in 2k20

I made a 6'4" Pure Shot Creator SG for 2K19. If we can customize where we can put our attributes to make our OWN MyPlayer, I would like to make an Athletic 3 & D Guard/Forward with better 3 pt. shooting than a Two-Way Shot Creator.

A Steph Curry-like or Kyrie Irving-like PG build would be great, too, if possible. I'd also like to make a big-man like Kevin Garnett, but with a 3 pt. shot.

Considering we'll still have archetypes, I'm 100% avoiding a pure sharp this year. Made a 6'8 sharp this year and I'll admit I was absolutely trash. My shaky ball-handling skills combined with terrible ball control and speed was a disastrous combo and I honestly gave up on online after that experience. I like the idea of making an all around wing such as a shot-creating sharp (which I made in 18), but like I said my ability to create off the dribble is not the greatest and would require me to put a lot of time into learning combos and stuff like that. I'll probably end up making a big man this year, but am not sure what build I'll make. I think I'm going to wait until we know more about this new MyPlayer builder to make my decision.
