    No Huddle Runoff Question

    Hey!

So with all no huddles theres automatically a runoff of a random time? Doesn't that get annoying late in the game?

I have not played the game yet and was searching for some clarity.

    Thanks

I found no problem with it. Seemed to vary among the distance of the play to where the new play was starting. Short plays had less run off than 40 to 50 yard no huddle. I think the longest I saw was 11 seconds?

Oh okay, But you don't see them rush to the line anymore right?

And any issues at the end of games?

Personally in the two minute warning, I'd rather see plays running to the LOS and the time run out than knowing there's an automatic runoff.

I would like to see the two minute with the players running. However in the last 5-7 years of NCAA and then Madden when physics came about, Ive had more issues with lineman glitching (not lining up, lining up on top of each other, getting stuck, not snapping, etc) than I’d like. I know of several instances in franchise/dynasty it’s cost me games. I’ve held on to time outs this season more though as I’ve been worried about that run off running the game out.

This was undoubtably made for the competitive gamers to avoid a visual disaster happening in a big time moment with money on the line.

Yeah it messed with my head anytime I was trying to run a legitimate hurry up offense. It's like you're racing against the clock, but the clock becomes an afterthought

To answer the OP's question at the top of the thread: the clock run-off isn't random, but rather it's based on how far away the furthest offensive player is from the spot of the ball for the next play.

They better bring huddle breaks/walk up back for at least sim mode in future games....it would be utter bs if we lost it forever.

I will give EA that. The runoff times I saw were about what I expected given each situation. Just messes with your mind when you forget to watch the clock and look up two plays later to see 40 seconds gone

Has these variable times hurt anyone yet at the end of the game? I'm just curious.

Although the first time I ran a no huddle and seen the runoff it caught me off guard. But since then, I have no issues with it at all. Speeds the game up a bit, skips the rush to the line, which I like.

I like the run off. It is realistic IMO and should lead to some people running out of time and not be considered a penalty on the user. It takes 10 -15 seconds immediately after a play to communicate and make sure everyone is lined up correctly.

If u choose to spike the ball is there a shorter run off time? I think there should be since no need to communicate a play.

Also, it would be cool if QB experience played into the run off time. A highly experienced QB knows exactly what he is doing and communicates efficiently. Inexperienced QBs with limited knowledge of the offense take much longer to line everyone up. Would be an interesting super star ability to no huddle faster if it is not already one.

Not sure I agree 100%. At least in the game where I was on Defense and the CPU ran 40 yard pass plays and completed the pass and I was immediately at the line of scrimmage on D with only a quick second to change the defensive playcall. I understand that you don't have as much time as normal....but I still feel like in real life defenders have time while lining up and waiting for the offense to hurry up and get set to bark out some changes. In Madden 19 I had a little time to call out plays while everyone was rushing back to the line....but I felt rushed. Now...I feel like I don't have any time. It might be OK after I get used to it but initially I'm not thrilled with it on defense.

This. Also, Madden has always had them run to the line at hyper speed which was unrealistic. I prefer the runoff.
