PS4 pro or Xbox one

Someone tested it in the impressions thread and said they're pretty much the same. I'd go with whichever one you like more or whichever one your friends are on.

In the past few years I've advocated for Xbox One X over PS4 Pro due to frame rate and the very rare but occasional PS4 hiccup (pause). Xbox One just ran so much better.

This year though I have played both a good bit and do not really notice any difference at all from Xbox One X to the PS4 Pro.

So it really is fine to go with either one, maybe base on which version more of your friends have it on is what I'd advise.

I have both and prefer PS4. Graphics belong to Xbox but I’ve found more PS4 to have less gameplay issues due the Xbox system. On Xbox I’ve found the gameplay too slow at times

So you saying the PRO is now locked 60fps like the X? And PRO last year was not even native 4k. Is it this year?

I have read that replays and post play animations are still 30fps on the pro

I really don't know but they both look and play the exact same to me now.

I have both and must say the Xbox one X is much better,native 4K,HDR,alot smoother gameplay than the PS4 pro...I haven't had any framerate drops at all on the X..I have on the pro..but the pro is still great.. Graphics are better on the X also..

Really?? I noticed that last year and the year before but I played my 10 hours on PS4 Pro and it seemed the same. I'll have to try to compare better when I go to play the full game on PS4 Pro next time.

My 10 hour trial with EA Access though it seemed to play exactly like the Xbox One in regards to frame rate, graphical fidelity, etc.

Never had any hiccups on PS4 Pro like I had in previous years..

I really don't know but they both look and play the exact same to me now.

I have a X and a Pro and love them both so I'm definitely not giving a fanboy opinion here. With every game practically I obsess about which console to buy for because I want to play the "best" version of the game. For me that means the prettiest graphically and the game that plays the most smooth. The X hands down wins in the graphics department but both games play smooth to me. I generally like how the PS plays better but not this year. They are equal in the gameplay department but far from so when it comes to graphics. On a 4k tv it's almost like varsity verses jv. The Xbox version just pops. Of course all this is just my opinion.

if the fps is like the x then that can only mean the lower the resolution because no chance that all madden games on the pro have never had locked 60fps like the last 2 Maddens on the X.

If it does this year it means they lowered the resolution on the PRO

That's your opinion and I disagree with it. When I say played better I'm talking in terms of varied gameplay not occasional drops in frames. I felt like Madden 19 on the PS had much more varied gameplay than the Xbox version did. The Xbox version seemed very predictable and scripted to me. My experience so far this year is both versions play similarly with the Xbox version being graphically superior. We can go back and forth on this so it doesn't really matter honestly. It's just my opinion as I stated in the first place.

Whichever one your friends play on or whichever controller you prefer is the better one. They look and run about the same.
