Re: Angry joe goes to town again watch for a laugh!

It's sad EA figured out they can maximize their profits by putting little resources into the game, and making millions of $$$.

But we all have not much choice or alternatives...It's the only NFL game out there....Comment

Yeah we do, but people keep giving their money to them anyway. Why buy the game if you KNOW it's a money grab? Lol

Agree and why I'm not buying it unless it goes down to $20-25. 2020nisnt all different then 19 though the gameplay is smoother. Nothing else has changed.Comment

Re: Angry joe goes to town again watch for a laugh!

Many people buy the game because for them, it offers enough bang for the buck even with the limited additions. As already mentioned the NFL is the most popular sport in America and this is the only NFL game in town. People are going to buy it even if it was only a roster update.

For others it's an annual tradition. I have been buying Madden since John Madden football on the Genesis. Every single year it has been available, I have purchased it. For pretty much this whole generation I swear to myself to hold off but I always give in. Was excited to see some more college teams in the game, including my Sooners only to be let down that you can only play them in one mode. Not even in play now. They bought the licenses and you can play with any of the teams but only for a short time as a QB. How on earth does this happen? Have any of the OS staff or Gamechangers asked why this is the case? Yes, I am aware of the modification that lest you play with most of the teams in exhibitions but this is a discussion about Tiburon, not workarounds.

Only in the video game world can a company be so anti-costumer and still be this successful. Completely ignoring their paying customers and a "can't do" spirit. Removing features, rehashing features, telling the customer what they can't do due to numerous limitations in the technology. Then finding a way to get them in and making it a feature. Don't get me started on Franchise mode.

EA caters to the Stockholders who only care about the bottom line. Has been this way forever. MUT just enhanced how much this is the case and why it always gets it's share of attention yearly.

You can't stop a fool and their money. MUT/FUT/HUT have proved that the addiction is real and EA does not really care how often you pull on the slot machine buying goods that have no value outside the game. There is a sucker born every minute and EA is a magnet for suckers.

The longer one rants about Madden, they realize that it's not just the MUT guys who are the fools. They just spend the most. I am just as foolish as the next guy who pays full retail for Madden. We are all in the same boat and EA has removed the sail, because technical reasons or such.Comment

Re: Angry joe goes to town again watch for a laugh!

It doesn’t explain why people with more money then brains though buy into the MUT mode and waste their cash! Before the cfm rubbish came in and ruined franchise and the MUT garbage of “fantasy football digital cards” came in I bought madden to play well football and franchise. And because it was the only choice I had at the time and it was ok and decent for franchise mode..

Then CFM came along and it became a only buy every 2 or 3 years game.. now it’s Becoming not ever bothering again because MUT mode had taken over because people waste their money brainless with that fantasy mode that isn’t sport.

I can’t stand cfm mode having to soebd 1 hour creating 32 profiles for 32 team control. then spend hours fixing the rosters the cpu screw up.. then gave players vanish, I haven’t got time for that crap as I get older. With a family and all I want a simple hit square start franchise with 32 teams with the rosters I set up in roster menu and play in 10 seconds.Last edited by ninertravel; 08-10-2019, 08:46 AM.Comment

Re: Angry joe goes to town again watch for a laugh!

EA, Activision, Ubisoft and all the big companies have people internally or hire consultants whose job is finding ways to get as much money out of your pocket as possible.

For the why, there are plenty of good articles on the subject. Here is one that covers the spectrum.

I'm glad he brought up the Clint interview in regards to Pro Bowl. Wonder what changed in regards to hardware between 18 and 20?

Re: Angry joe goes to town again watch for a laugh!

It had nothing to do with the hardware, Tiburon slipped "Liquid AI" back into the game. It was from Madden 98 but was light years ahead of it's time.

Madden NFL 98 pushes interactive sports game technology to a new level. A key area of focus this year was devoted to the game's artificial intelligence (AI), which is the manner in which the computer reacts as the game is played. Pioneered by EA SPORTS, Madden NFL 98 is the first video game to implement a concept called Liquid AI’. Just as a liquid, such as water, flows when it hits a surface to fill open space and gaps, Liquid AI enables the video football players in Madden NFL 98 to dynamically flow and move to the correct positions on the field in order to make a play.
Like water it just flows really well, freeing up other resources to allow for all those different helmets on the field.Comment

He hits the nail on the head so hard, it isn't even funny.

Madden can be fun to play, but good god is it a lazy product. And that's being kind.Comment

Re: Angry joe goes to town again watch for a laugh!

One thing we know, is that resources are being used for MUT, we don’t know how much but I still have to wonder just how much effort they put into it from a dev standpoint. Mostly because, it’s really not a feature that needs much attention, people will play it simply because it’s an addictive mode. There’s still so much that needs to be added to Madden esp in CFM.

I’m glad he brought back up that Pro Bowl helmet issue. We have seen so many amazing things in gaming, but they couldn’t add helmets back til now because of tech issues...? This is self-inflicted. A lot of people misinterpret these issues (or EA has implied) as if it’s console limits when it’s clearly the issues with their engine and foundation the game was rebuilt on in 2005. They continue to have these issues, yet we have games still pushing the graphical and performance of these consoles.
