Has anyone had any luck with the splits/wraps?

I’ve been really trying to figure out how to correctly split the hedge or wrap around the roller on the pick and roll, and I feel like I’ve been able to do it, sort of, but I feel like I’m not doing it the way the game intended haha. I’ve been coming off the screen and changing direction in combination with turbo to split the d. I would just like to know if anyone has had any luck with it?

I’ve had some snakes and got the crab dribble a few times and I had some cool animations on leaning shot animations with defender trapped behind me. It’s unfortunate the rookie level in the pnr 2 on 2 practice because the cpu never switches defenses by hedging, showing, or switching. It makes it hard to practice. It’s inconsistent for me though when I try it. I use broadcast cam though too... As far as splits go I’ve have not had as much luck BUT I have warped splits numerous times and I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or the way they meant for the splits to be like. It has always happened though with Draymond on a hard hedge. I’m hoping I just need more practice with it or a different point guard like a Lillard or Kemba? Maybe it’s a split badge? Idk...

I’ve been doing it in the scrimmage with Kyle Lowry who seems to have good handle. I can shammgod with him so it’s decent haha. In the scrimmage, I can occasionally catch Willie Cayley-Stein hedging and, like you said, warp the split. I got one REALLY NICE behind the back split but I haven’t been able to recreate it since. I tried for over an hour to get a shammgod split but at least with Lowry, it seems impossible 😂

So far, the only split I’ve gotten where my dribbler’s contextual awareness changed, giving me a new animation, was out of a double team.

He did a push dribble between the two and slipped past.

If I can recreate that or other new movements, I’ll come back to this thread.

I’ve been doing a drill that *could be what you’re asking about.

But im not exactly sure what you’re looking for besides a simple change of direction

Are you asking more so about a specific animation? Or more so if the spacing allows for it?

You could do the wrap in 2K19. Just get by the defender off the pick and roll. And hold L2 to keep him on your back. Wide open mid range.

I thought that was called a stall haha. I have been able to warp through the doubles like the post up there ^^ but I thought they were saying there were gonna be splitting animations like there are in that Russell Westbrook split video. And as far as wraps, I took that to mean the screen defense drops off so you wrap around the screener to create a one on one situation with the screeners guy. Very much like Chris Paul. I don’t mind it the way it is, I just thought since that was something that was advertised by devs, there would be animations for those exact situations. Like pushing the ball through. It creates a live ball but if done correctly, can be SUPER useful

Oh me too. This is what Czar explained

"Wraps are useful when you snake the pick and roll or dribble between the screener and your defender it is a protective dribble without which the ball would likely bounce off the defender's foot.

So if the screen is coming on your left you start left and split the d and then cross back right behind the screener before he can roll. That is a wrap. When it plays out correctly is looks really dope and feels even better."
