Same Goalie masks as all years before, detecting no new face scans at this two Teams. Only other commentary and without NBC licence is new. Gameplay looking exactly like 19.

Was hoping they would bring goal songs back this year. Commentary is ok but they don't players names very often.

Wonder what camera that was, overhead?

Yeah, you can tell by the score overlay being down and lack of NBC license (hint: improvement Lol), if not sure

Isn't that the Blues' goal song?

Used to be, now it's a song from The Urge.

Can already tell that the game will get stale very quickly as it's basically NHL19 with a new overlay and a new play-by-play guy.

I'll still give it a try with EA Access but I'm not optimistic.

what I saw in the video was all I asked for, it made my surpassed my goals, I was drooling at the OT goal too, it has surpassed all my expectations, I wanna just buy it now, that's how Human vs Human should play, I especially liked how it was back and fourth and I liked choice of camera used for it too, I dunno… if it was Dynamic Medium or Something, I really liked Camera Perspective : Alternate , it worked good., it may look stale, but dude like me takes full advantage of that and makes goalies harder to score on and stuff, thank u for this video, I almost went got sum popcorn to sit down and watch it, it almost looked like real NHL game for once, it was that good, the graphics look like real humans, if u set resolution to 1080p 60, I can see it ran smoothly.

it was like taste to what's coming on September 13th

                again thank u for this.

Do you work for EA sports? Is this actually Rammer trying to boost sales?

You may want to play NHL19 again because there were a lot of things that were better IMHO. Also, I believe for goalie masks that we will never see them in game because neither the NHLPA, the players, or the NHL owns any of the rights for them, so I would just get used to generic masks.

Players faces, I couldn't tell you if they did any scans because I can not stand either of those teams so I never watch them.

                      Re: Full gameplay, retail

Thanks to OP for linking to this video. The game itself looks decent, I didn't really play much last year but the animations look smoother (maybe). For gameplay, I'll wait until I play the game myself. I do have some thoughts on commentary and visuals:

                      - James Cybulski is an upgrade over Doc and Eddie. I liked him enough on Sportsnet and he is sounds engaged during the game

                      - Cybulski is too excited. I like that he is not monotone but the commentary sounds like it's the last 2 minutes of a tied game for the entire 3 periods. Hopefully, there is a little more variety when the full game releases. To this point, not every save is a great save -- sometimes a simple "puck stopped" would suffice.

                      - Needs more Ray. Ray provides some colour commentary but it still seems too sparse. A little more conversation would be nice (although it is hockey and doesn't lend itself as well to that style as the NBA series)

                      - Transition names. Rather than saying the teams line up for the face off, the commentary should single out the two centremen. e.g. "Bozak and Tavares line up for the face off". It's a small change but significant for game immersion. The same goes for announcing goals. Instead of "he scores" and then silence, it would be nice if Ray picked up his narrative with "Ovechkin did blah blah blah..."

                      - Silence on replays. There is still too much silence when the start to show other angles of goals. They should have more canned dialogue to discuss. Hopefully in franchise mode, they can discuss contextual elements from the season during these moments.

                      - Lack of scanned faces. I know the team have a smaller budget than other sports games but if they cannot get the scans, they need to start adding a greater variety of fake faces.

It's only one game, so I'll reserve judgment until I play the full version. That said, I did want to get these thoughts out there. Although most of my comments are directed at the commentary, I'd like to say that Cybulski sounds like a big step up from the last few years.

am just saying I liked the video, I liked everything about it, it was really accurate, am giving an honest answer here and boxers can agree on that, that's how it should play, I didn't see one bot outta place , I studied it twice, u can't make a more perfect game then that.

He’s not asking for real masks, he’s asking for the generic ones to be updated more than once every 13 years. Doesn’t seem like a huge ask, but I guess flatbrims and skimasks are more important for an NHL game to have then goalie masks representing an NHL team to use the correct colors as the NHL team they’re supposedly created for.

LMAO. That's exactly what I was thinking when I read that post. It's such total crap. NHL 20 is nothing more than a basic update to 19, yet EA continues to charge full retail for their Ed Wood ping pong totally scripted/dictated hockey game.

It's been a total disaster with Ramjagsingh in charge, never played a game of professional hockey in his life, and until he's 100% gone from having anything to do with it anymore, the game will continue on being the absolute worst sports video game in history. It's so sad but true.

The guys playing the game are actually mentally challenged and have never played hockey before. Couple that with the bad AI and it looks bad. Give me sliders
