New Classic Teams 2k Has the Players For

I was researching and planning for my retro roster for 2k20, and I realized there are quite a few teams 2k has enough player rights to, or CLOSE to enough players to add into the game. Especially with the new players from MyTeam.

I love the list. But your can take out 2003 Wizards. MJ signed deal to use his image. The way he wants to. He controls everything.

Even if 2K never adds the team themselves, I like these lists so I know who I might be able to go out and create on my own. And with the Wizards having a 2000's era court added back in with the inclusion of the '07 team (albeit a different one from Jordan's in '03), a user-made Jordan Wizards team is well within reach.

This is why I believe they should bring back create-a-team. So that you could save this teams, name them, and place them in the courts of your make or choice, with uniforms as well. Plus duplicates of coaches.

I've been playing with that team since Jordan was put in the game lol. But only off line. That's why I said what I said. If I can't play with them online.

I'd be shocked if Jordan ever let that happen.

This gets me excited for what the community might be able to do with custom rosters. Hope there will be some good CAPs to fill out missing players too.

Also, I got kick out of every team having their win totals and for 2002 Magic it just says "Prime TMac" which is a perfectly acceptable reason for that team being included as a classic team.

Yeah, almost making it out of the first round doesn’t have the same feel lol

Re: New Classic Teams 2k Has the Players For

The 1987 Seattle SuperSonics are the last team with a losing record (39-43) to win a playoff series and they ended up going all the way to the Western Conference Finals. Pretty fun looking team.

                        1987 Sonics (8 Players)
                        Tom Chambers
                        Dale Ellis
                        Xavier McDaniel
                        Alton Lister
                        Nate McMillan
                        Gerald Henderson
                        Fast Eddie Johnson
                        Maurice Lucas

                        Missing:

                        Clemon Johnson
                        Danny Young
                        Terence Stansbury

If nothing else, the 63-win 1994 Sonics would make for a sharp addition someday as a means of squaring off against the Nuggets who took them down that year and also because it'd provide access to the Sonics' more traditional color scheme. Additions of Ricky Pierce and Kendall Gill (in place of Hersey Hawkins) would be about the only difference.

1993 Sonics are solid: (7 confirmed)
                          WCF appearance

                          Shawn Kemp
                          Gary Payton

The 2000 Suns may have been a fuller roster than the 2003 team (10 Players):

                            Jason Kidd
                            Clifford Robinson
                            Penny Hardaway
                            Tom Gugliotta
                            Rodney Rogers
                            Luc Longley
                            Rex Chapman
                            Kevin Johnson
                            Shawn Marion

Some teams that are getting there:

                              1976 Celtics: (6 players)

                              Jo Jo White
                              Dave Cowens
                              John Havlicek
                              Don Nelson
                              Paul Silas
                              Charlie Scott

                              1985 Clippers: (6* players)
Not a lot of wins, but some talent

                              Bill Walton
                              Marques Johnson
                              Junior Bridgeman
                              Harvey Catchings
                              Norm Nixon
                              James Donaldson

                              Maybe Michael Cage
